Hello everyone, I did not see a new members fourm so I assumed this post was appropriate for general disscussion. I apolagize profusely if it is not. That being said, I am a seventeen year old guy from New York. I have had a life long interest in firearms which has frowned upon by my parents and many of my family members. despite this I have continued to maintain my knowledge of firearms and stay connected to the community by whatever means possible. Im happy to be here among people that share my views and will be makeing my first actual firearms purchase this coming september. So I am here to learn more than anything else, thanks for having me.

Thanks for the hospitality boys, sorry for the confusion about my last post. I said shoot, not school hahaha . Im located on Long Island, more specifically in Smithtown.

Ah, i'm way out in western NY. Many hours away from long island. I can understand then, being from that section of the state, why you're folks may be not completely pro-gun. If you're ever out this way and have a hankerin for some shooting, let me know.

There feelings about firearms come more from wanting me to be safe than anything else. More of a "you will shoot your eye out" mentality than anything else. My Dad's father was a NYC police officer for over 25 years and was very cautious about exposeing my dad to firearms. I guess the nervous energey traveled the generation gap.

Quite the contrary my friend, were good people. It seems it is mostly the politicians in our stae that want to see firearms taken away from citizens. Something like 50% of the people in my county are gun owners.
