OK, now it does say "in **********", but, there's a warning on the Alox bottle saying there's known carcinogens in Alox. I'm not a "scary mary" (have yet to get my lead level tested), but it did give me pause to consider that I'm going to be vaporizing that Alox a few inches in front of my face.

Any thoughts on what it is in Alox that's "known in ********** to cause cancer"?

BTW, I'll be loading 45ACP 200gr LSWC that I lubed last night with Alox to see if it clears up the front-barrel leading I'm getting. So regardless of the replies, there's gonna be some Alox vaporizing going on this afternoon!

I believe its been known for some that alox was not to be used in indoor range situtations. But was not widely publicized.

Petroleum products I believe. About the equivalent of getting motor oil on your hands.

White label lube co's liquid lube is far better. Thicker and much cheaper. And you still get the same amount of carcinogens too!

If it has smoke its supposedly bad for you, which if inhaled continually probably is the case.

But where do you draw the line is the question.

Items made of brass are a carcinogen in Ca.

Lee Liquid Alox is this material. BTW this is the same stuff which Ziebart sprays on your car for rustproofing.

For complete safety, health, personnel protection and first aid information, please refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) that can be ordered via your local Lubrizol Metalworking representative or regional office listed on this data sheet. Product Data Sheets and
MSDS’s are also available online to registered users at www.mylubrizol.com.

Alox will only cause cancer in California.

It is perfectly safe in the other 49 states if you don't eat too much of it at one setting.

California has declared that swallowing small amounts of saliva over a long period of time will cause throat cancer..............

California is also the source of all the scare over lead, which has been in use since firearms were first invented.......

Yes, a buddy of mine who sells accessories for model airplanes had to put warning labels on some stuff containing brass so it could be sold in CA.

I looked at a few of the MSDSs readily available for the group of products collectively marketed under the name "Alox," and they don't indicate that it's carcinogenic. But ********** says it is, so I guess it must be.

As with anything, if used in the wrong way, it may pose some health risks.
Take simple water for example, if inhaled would proberbly be quite hazzardous, but then again completely avoiding it all together would also be bad for your health. :)

That means "This stuff is Awesome" in California Legal Speak.

Just like Trans Fat. If it has a warning about having it....I buy it!
