Seems like I can buy lead bullets various calibers for about the same price I use to, but looking around at various sites 240 gr plated 44 mag are running around $90-$100 for a box of 500, I thought just two years ago they were running in the 50-60's. I have enough to last another year if they are marked up as much as I think, but if I'm mis-remembering prices, I may buy some when they are in stock. Is this the I remember when I could get gas for under 25 cents a gallon thing :).

Prices are high now as demand is still strong and now the manufacturers have bumped prices as well. I cant say how long this will last and if or by how much they will go back down. My bps has 308 bullets from hornaday for 41 cents plus tax for 100. Berger is 50 cents and always way out of my regular shooting budget. I'll wager Berger goes up not hornaday go down.

You are remembering correctly. They were running about 8-10 cent each for hard cast bullets. Sometimes free shipping or other specials. We are entering a inflationary period. The powers that be cannot recklessly print enormous amounts of money with no repercussions. We are headed for a wild ride.

Thanks guys, just wanting to make sure I wasn't having old timers memory. I'll wait a while, I have enough left to get me 19 range trips, or 19 months since I go once a month. Maybe prices will be back to what they were, or at least closer.

I think prices will start coming back down over the summer. Rocky mtn reloading did post a statement. About materials prices going up. Thus their price will go up for the customers. When the govt stops extending unemployment benefits. People will go back to work. And supplies will come more available.
