Am I the first to point out that CLP smells like carrots?

Some standard questions from work come to mind:

1) Are you currently under, or have you ever been under the care of a psychiatrist or psychologist?

2) Are you currently on any medications?

3) Have you ever been hospitalized for any reason, physical or otherwise?

4) Any known current illnesses or conditions?

5) How far did you go in your education, and if you did not graduate from high-school, what was the last grade you completed?

6) Are you currently under the influence of any drugs or alcohol?

I think that it is best that you dispose of those carrots immediately.

This reminds me of some lines from the movie Down Periscope ...

"Jesus, Buckman! This stuff's been on the Stingray since Korea! This can expired in 1966!"
"What's the matter sir? It still tastes like creamed corn."
"Except it's - DEVILED HAM!"

:D

Does it taste like carrots too? If so, stop eating (or drinking) it. That might be your problem.

I always get burned on "x smells like y" comments.

My wife made me sleep on the couch when I said gin smelled like scotch tape. ;)

for the benefit of the OP I'll ask... Which do you mean?

When CLP is in the bottle?
... on metal?
... on plastic?
.... on wood finish?
or do you mean rotten carrots?

some detail might help the feeling of .... what ya smokin?

In response to the OP...yes. But I've always purchased it because of the carrot smell as well. Everyone else here is just hiding a well-known secret kept among civilian gun owners and military. Please don't mention it to others in a public setting.

LOL

Seriously, I can't be the only one to notice. Slice a carrot and simmer in water for a while... smell the steam. Now spray a bit of CLP. Definitely a close similarity.

Course I think Hoppe's No. 9 makes a great aftershave and steak seasoning, so I may be biased a bit toward gun-related smells. :D

You wouldn't happen to have recently starting dragging your foot and smiling with half your face, would you?

Thanks guy....now you have me running around sniffing my gun care products as well as gin and scotch tape. I was prepared to respond with my findings but during the half hour I spent thinking I was a ballerina I forgot what my conclusions were.
