    I discovered something today.
While shooting, I decided to do some weak handed practice. To my surprise, I discovered that I was a natural left handed shooter!!! :D
To test the theory, I placed two live soda cans on the platform, backed up 10 to 11 yards, and hit with both my Kahr MK9 and my BHP using my left hand!!

    I'm pleased!!

This leads me to want to search for any more naturally ambidextrous shooters out there. We MUST be a minority!!

Minority?? .. I would think so ... tho I did IIRC start a thread some weeks back about handedness ... and that included a question re ambidextrous too. Again IIRC (could search that thread out methinks) .... there are more of you than I might have imagined.

I am a total ''righty'' but practice weak hand quite a bit .... it always feels awkward tho .... and never up to freehand with right hand .... but good enough for an emergency I guess.

Ah .. quick search ... here it is ....

    http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15386&highlight=handedness

From that poll we got 9.56% ambidextrous .. not bad.

There are a few other threads also on this sorta subject . just use keyword ''handedness''.
    :)

If I don't rush, I can shoot about as well left handed as right handed.

    I do tire faster.

I switch eyes when I switch hands so I get the added benefit that my left eye has better vision than my right.

    John...cool.
I use either eye n either hand too.
Right handy when shootin around barricades...minimal exposure.

Even for those for whome it is not natural, practicing wrong handed and wrong eyed is good practice in the event all the body parts are not functioning properly.

I shoot primarily left handed being left eye dominant.

Have learned to shoot either handed aiming with left eye. With handguns that is.

    Better control with right hand.

Sure I can use the non-dominant hand & eye. I'm just slower. Good to develop skill with it in case the dominant hand is disabled. Every serious shooter should practice it.

I noticed the same thing last year. I had some problems w/ my right elbow & found that shooting left handed and left eye dominant wasn't 1/2 bad ;)
