I am looking at an AMD-based build with the wire side folding stock. I like the looks of the underfolder better, but I don't like A) having to push a button when I unfold it or B)the fact that it blocks the safety when folded. Short of going to a left-side folder (which will cost a lot more money), I think the AMD stock looks the best of those commonely available.
First, how are ergonomics with it? Does the recoil kick the hell out of your face?
Second, do you still have to depress a button to unfold the stock, or is it held in place by sheer friction or detente?
Third, does it take a licking and keep in ticking? I am not going to baby an AK, so if this thing is going to bend from the occasional drop or ding, I'm not interested.
