Aaah, wire folders are awesome! Don't listen to the haters!!:p

This thing shoots like a dream, no hurt face after a few hundred rounds...
And 20rd mags are a must!

Even those are a bit hard on the shoulder if you're only wearing a tee shirt. Better in 545 or 556.

I dont mind cast trunnions. I bought the RAS 47 after about 6 months after release. Investment casting is no joke (see Ruger 1911 frames).

No cracking or mushrooms here. Century has apparently addressed any issues with its heat treating process, and after first run woes subsided, all is well. I can't speak for other rifles, like the I.O.'s, but my RAS is the only one I own with a cast trunnion and its great.

The AMD65 is not without it shortcomings. Metal hand guard and wire stock. Not that these can't be fixed. See http://www.amd65tech.com/ to resolve the check weld issue for a minimum investment.

The front hand guard is always on issue on an AK. In prolonged fire the wooden hand guard will smoke for sure. The metal one becomes too hot to handle. The AMD was designed for a forward grip to resolve the issue.

The AMD65 if built to spec is every bit as good as any AK on the market. You must overcome its shortcomings. The good thing is that there are not many.

Check out all the work that AMD65 Tech has done with the rifle for ideas of what is possible.

Thanks Dh, but that's not how I roll.

I like to keep my guns in original military configuration.

Looks like this AMD-65 is not for me guys. Since it has a long barrel with no chrome lining, vs the ones with shorter chrome lined barrels, I'm going to pass on this gun.

Mods, please close this one.

Sure thing!

(But I can't resist pointing out that no AMD-65 sold here in the 'States is in original military configuration for several reasons, so any decision to draw a line and say "I'll accept this modification but not that one..." is purely your own preference.
