Ammo gettin better

I'm not trying to demean anybody colonel. My point is that there isn't a "lack of supply", there's a huge (artificial) spike in demand. By all accounts, the manufacturers are at full capacity, cranking out ammo faster than they ever have. So, if this isn't a supply side "shortage" (like it would be if the world suddenly ran out of raw lead), it must be the consumers driving it. And if people would just pause for a bit, the market would start heading back to some kind of equilibrium. But, posting how bad it is every couple of days only feeds the panic and generates a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Yes, getting better. I share the same opinion and my opinion is also based on boxes sitting on real-life shelves. Gunbot is a joke.

I put a link to Gunbot since it is something everyone can access.

The "real-life" shelves at any of 3 Wal-Mart(s) within 30-35 minutes of my house are continually barren of handgun ammo.

no, i know your right...im a new shooter, and just dont have much ammo but i actually just feel compulsed for some reason to snap up any ammo i can find...its almost like just for the hunt ya know? if it was easy to find, i almost feel that i wouldnt even be interested...i and many others have really fallen victim to a "herd" mentality on this....ive never known a "normal" market, dont even know what it feels like myself

I feel for those folks that have just started shooting. Walking headlong into this "panic", with no other point of reference has got to be unnerving.

I've been shooting since the early 80's, and I've seen the market ebb and flow through the years, including a couple of pretty serious panics. Just be patient. This, too, will pass.

There can be a supply side shortage even with manuf. at full capacity. If product doesnt make it from dist. to dealers, or dealers to shelves, then you have an artificially maintained shortage.

No doubt about it here

My LGS has cases of 223 and ak rounds tulammo. Also selling 500 rd blocks. Not bad price either. Also moved limits per caliber to 5 boxes ( u can get 5 and 5 ball and self defense)

Yea right at the beginning i thought all these prices were normal and i thought wow this is going to be a more expensive hobby than i thought. The good thing is, any price drop whatsoever, im gonna be feelin pretty good about

I agree that e demand is way up. However, in these parts the supply of imported ammo is virtually gone. In normal times imported ammo is about 2x domestic ammo. I have seen a small amount of Tula 223 but none is handgun calibers. No s&b, brown bear, mfs2000, ...
