my ammo (well, most of it) is in the basement under my reloading bench. i would be afraid to put that much weight on the floor joists in my house.
They replaced a vault at the local bank a couple of months ago. I bought it, had it transported to my home, and that is now for my guns , ammo, and valuables. Yeah, it cost me only $2300 for the safe, but, with transport, construction, etc... I have $8500 in it now, but I added $20,000 to my home value!!
Just keep a box or two handy for the gun of the day....bulk of it is stored elsewhere.
I'd give my left kidney to have that amount of .223/9mm on hand..texasredneck, 10,000 rounds is adequate for some, but it is child's play for many on here. Personally, I'd be freaking out to get down to that amount.
