If this thread has recently been done or if someone knows where I can just read an old one please share the link and I will drop this one. I have been reloading a lot more latelly and am running out of old ammo boxes. I saw an add for a frankfurt arsenal ammo vault. It looks cool, but is there a less expensive and effective way to store ammo? $9 for a little plastic box seems excessive since it only holds 20 rounds. I am looking for a couple 20 rounders for my 270. But really need to figure something out for several hundred 223 223. Thanks

I store ammo in zip lock bags. I keep the bags in a rolling tool chest. Each drawer gets it's own caliber.

^^^^ My preferred method also. I just use the smallest freezer bags I can get. I use a sharpie and put load info on the bag as well as date loaded. The white boxes are excellent but I would run out of room fast with my 50K+ reloads if I used this method only.:D

Plastic Coffe cans

My in-laws are big coffee drinkers. The smaller plastic cans work great for ammo, and brass in different stages. The larger plastic cans work well for holding larger caliber brass and tumbling media. I've also been know to ask my kids to dig in the trash cans at the range for the empty boxes. :)

That is one BAAB (BIG A$$ Ammo Box). How may desicant packs go in somthing like that? Only down side I see is moving the thing.

I have MTM/CaseGuard boxes that are over forty years old and are still going strong. I buy them when I need a filler to get over minimum order requirements.

For me, the hoy grail of ammo storage is someone like MTM that would make 50/100 round ammo boxes that would stack really well inside an ammo can.
