Ammunition in Northern Virginia?

Anyone got any tips on where to buy ammo (relatively) cheap in Northern VA? I know the best way is to do it online, but that's not always an option when you need (or want) it right away! I went to my local Wal*Mart (Burke) and the ammo selection was pathetic. They had 1 dusty box of .40SW and one box of 9mm, with a bunch of other non-gun related crap thrown in the display case. It was obvious that they don't stock (or sell) much in terms of ammo. The gun clerk was also nowhere to be found.

I'm going to check some other Wal*Marts in the area, but I don't expect to find much. Any suggestions?

I usually get my ammo at the Wal Mart in Fair Lakes or the one at Dulles Town Center.

Both have excellent ammo departments and usually have a pretty healthy amount of 100 round WWB ammo in (not to mention plenty of hollowpoints, etc.)

I also go to Virginia Arms - their prices are a bit higher, but they have a better selection - or you can hit Potomac Arms for surplus stuff. The Dicks in Fair Lakes runs some decent sales. I think they may be getting out of handgun ammo though. Used to have great great prices and selections before they changed ownership and names. ALso try Gander Mountain.

I've started mail ordering a lot lately, but if you don't want to do that, both Dominion Arms and Virginia Arms are good.

Both are on Route 28, and rather close to each other.

And Gun Shows work well too.
