An amateur review of the CRKT Offbeat II

SUCCESS! I finally got this thing to start hanging up a bit on printer paper in a few spots. I stropped using diamond emulsions at 4, 2, 1 and .5 micron and it is back to push cutting and wave cutting smoothly. It only took a few minutes on the strops. It was still cutting just fine for any task prior to stropping, but I rarely let my knives get below that level of sharpness.

Maintaining an edge with strops here and there puts a lot of time in between necessary sharpenings. I’m done with my “testing” and will send it back to its rightful owner in short order. Hopefully this was useful to some of you folks!

Got mine back today. Man is it sharp. I could literally shave my face with it. I sent one to Troy a week or so ago. Troy what do you think of the Offbeat? Thanks steadyd.
Been carrying it every day, came quite sharp above average I'd say for now much they sell for. Would shave out of the box, I did strop it some on bare leather and that worked well to. Fit and finish I think is very good can't see any mistakes anywhere, edge grind looks even and locks up nice. Took a little to get used to opening and closing, carries nice in the pocket and feels super light compared to the s&w I was carrying pryer.

The edge is a shape I like and useful, used it the other day when I was doing some stock work. It shaved walnut nicely were I was shaping a repair in the wood I couldn't really get the chisel in.
