So my wife works at a sporting goods store. They are/have an FFL. Ruger has a promo which allows the employees of the store to purchase firearms direct from Ruger at a very good discount. My wife recently took advantage of this offer and filled out the necessary forms to purchase a gun.

The gun has now been paid for via a credit card transaction directly to Sturm Ruger, not through the store. The gun arrived at the store and my wife completed the NICS background check form. I doubt there will be any issue with that and it should come back as complete shortly.

Here's the issue: The company require all goods purchased from vendors to pass through the store and be signed out by the store manager. The store manager is currently not my wife's biggest fan, and may possibly be unwilling to release the gun. So providing the background check comes back good, who legally owns the firearm?

Hopefully it won't be an issue, but if it is, I'd like to be ahead of it.
