    ALL other Opinel models are now available in that steel.

    How good is that?

    I was just going to ask about the Sandvik 12C27 steel, what someone who doesn't know much about knives should know about it as far as care and use notes.

    @NG

    it´s what makes those Moras so good. A 3layer "sandwich" steel
    typical for Pukkos.

    I just LOVE Opinel knives and I can't wait to get my hands on one of these.
    Anyone in the U.S.A. have 'em yet?
    SMKW has been out of several of the popular Opinel models for quite some time now.

    I bought one a couple of months ago. Blue handle. Absolutely beautiful and useful knife.

    I think that the Opinel's aren't using a sandwich steel. At least they don't advertise it as such nor does my 12C27 Opinel show any evidence that the blade is a laminated steel.

    Oh. Yeah u right.

    I got it mixed up somewhere :-(

    After some googlin i`m still not sure where
    that "laminated" idea came from.

    Mora has a "triflex" version.
    But even that is just differentially hardened.

    On the other hand ... not being 3layer steel,
    makes it even more remarkable what mora gets out of 12C27! :)
