and strangely, a glock question

Some of you may remember from TFL my dislike for glock triggers. But I shot a Glock 17 yesterday and well...I hate to admit it, but I liked it. Now, don't be telling people. This is the kind of thing that can ruin a man. I then shot a glock 23c and it, too, was nice. So, my questions are as follows:

1. How does the G19 feel compared to the G17.

2. How does a non-compensated G23 compare to a G23C.

3. And any thoughts on the G27 kick?

Now remember, don't go telling people about this. I do intend to shoot them all, just wondering what I am getting into here. I had always avoided Glocks until yesterday when I took two new shooters to the range. Went really well. One was very very safe and mindful of the rules whereas the other one had to be told repeatedly but did listen. Wanted to let them both shoot a glock and the guy next to us had a couple and was very nice letting us shoot them. Both of the new shooters though were talking afterward about getting their own Ruger GP-100s they liked mine so much. Wow, did I ever go off on a tangent.
 
i don't know about all of the combinations that you ask about, but i got a G23 for christmas, and it shoots MUCH better than my dad's G33 .357 with either the .357 or .40 barrel. the fit is much better in my hands and the recoil seems to be much lighter.
 
I would rate recoil about the same between my 17 and 19. Recoil from a 23 is a bit sharper by comparison and a little more muzzle rise. I've not fired a 23C but I do have a 32C and while I like the gun, the recoil is a bit too much and I don't like the ports. Don't have a 27, so I can't tell you anything about it.
 
Glock has 3 frame sizes:

Full-size = G17 (9mm. P) = G22 (.40 S&W) = G31 (.357 SIG);
Compact = G19 (9mm. P) = G23 (.40 S&W) = G32 (.357 SIG);
Sub-compact = G26 (9mm. P) = G27 (.40 S&W) = G33 (.357 SIG).

I find the recoil of the G23 to be sharper and "brisker" than the G19, but by no means unmanageable. The G23C has less muzzle flip, but just the same recoil to the rear. The G27 and G33 both have fairly strong felt recoil, due to the fact that their grip frames don't offer any support for the little finger: yet both are remarkably accurate, even outshooting their larger cousins. I don't find them unmanageable at all.

I prefer the G19 to the G17: same felt recoil, basically, but in a smaller grip frame that conceals better. In fact, I have a G17 that has been modified by cutting down the grip frame to G19 length. It uses standard G19 magazines, but has the extra ½" of barrel length of the G17. Nice gun.

If you want to enter competitions, etc., consider the G34/35, with the G17-size frame but a longer slide and barrel. Excellent balance, higher velocities, and a 3½-pound trigger pull out-of-the-box.
 
1) The G17 frame is to big for my hand. I prefer the G19.

2) I dislike the 10mm kurz Glocks, so I "made" my own. I bought a 10mm kurz barrel for my G29 (10mm). The recoil on my hybrid is non existent!!!!

3) The only experience I have had with "compensated" pistols id a Taurus M605 revolver. In a snub it was great!! In a Glock, I'm not so sure if it is really necessary!!!

Resistance is futile!! You will be assimilated!!! :evil:
 
do yourself a favor and try the 30, possibly glocks best pistol. IMO anyway.
 
I use to have a G17 shot great but was too big. I now have the G19 and it is Perfect. Great gun fits like a glove. :neener:

I have the G17 and G19. I use the G17 for the range and the G19 for general purpose. For me, they shoot pretty much the same. Out of the box the G17's trigger was very smooth, but the G19 was a bit gritty. After many trigger pulls, the G19 has smoothed out.

I also prefer the smooth feel of the G17 trigger compared to the excuse of a BATF import law that makes Glock put a "target trigger" on the smaller framed guns like the G19.

Both great guns.
 
I prefer the G19 to the G17 for just one reason: slightly easier concealment.

I also own a G21, and it's my favorite firearm in my collection.

Used to hate 'em, now I swear by 'em.

Ooo! Ooo!

The Glock 29 (10mm)and 30 (.45 )have a different frame than the model 26/27/33. The grip is short, but it is wider.

The Glock 36 is a single stack .45, with a frame different from any other Glock. /troll on/ Really very much like the revered 1911. /troll off/

The Models 20/21 are on another frame size, as well... and they're really, really big.

With the 23 and 23c. The 23c has less flip, but I have a 23 and really don't think that the ports are needed.
