So I was watching a little bit of this show on the History Channel about the 2002 D.C. "sniper" shootings. So I was watching and then the narrator said: "An incredible 100 to 200 yards away. The only weapon capable of such precision is a high-caliber rifle. Forsythe realized he’s not just up against a guy with a gun, he is facing off with a highly skilled sniper. The long distance of the shot a testament to killer’s terrible skill."
Now, I'm quite confident that I could teach any boy scout with his rifle merit badge to make a 100 yard shot with a .22 in about 20 minutes. 100 to 200 yards is very far from being 'incredible' there are thousands of deer shot at twice that range every fall. You don't need a "high-caliber rifle" to make a 100 yard shot, any firearm in a legal sense can make 100 yard shot. The ignorance of the show was disgusting, why TV shows and the media don't do a little research, or ask someone with knowledge before taking their product to market I will never understand. Okay, rant over now.
