Had a chance to pick up 5 Bushmaster AR 30rd mags for $20/ea. These are aluminum with a gray follower. Baseplate has the BM snake insignia and the printed label:

B.F.I.
ILION, NY
U.S.A.

My question, are these quality mags?

By internet investigation I've deducted that the older Bushmaster Windham, Me. mags were considered a good USGI type mags. My other concern is I've read that USA mags are poor quality and to steer clear. The "USA" on these mags just made me wonder if I may have got duped.

Mag gurus of THR, input is desired.

Thanks,

Bob

Is the address of Busmaster now that Remington is running it.

Seems perfectly normal to have the name & address on the floor plate to me.

It doesn't mean they are USA brand mags.

Seemed logical to me also.

Are you familiar with USA mags and their markings?

Are the newer Bushmaster mags good quality?

I guess I could have been more simple in my original post. Any input on the other parts of my question?

A friend bought a few BM mags years ago stamped Windham, ME. They also had the gray followers and still work fine. Very likely yours will be fine too. BM could still get the mags from the same supplier no matter what address is stamped on the floor plate - or where the rifles themselves are assembled.

Bushmaster used to buy their mags from C Products LLC, before their closure. C Products is now back in business as C Products Defense. Some of their old tooling is in use by ASC. I have no idea who Bushmaster currently buys their mags from.

I'm pretty sure you have a D&H mag with a magpul follower. If so, they are good to go. Check to see if there is a CAGE code on the side.
