"The show's producers have defended themselves by saying the series bears a warning not to try its stunts at home."

What they are really saying by showing such stuff is, "Kids, don't try this really cool stunt at home, but just imagine what it would be like to do this and have all your friends say just how cool you are!"

TV and the movies are giving kids who have no idea of what really happens in real life an unrealistic view of the effects of violence, accidents, and other actions. People fall dozens of feet and merely bruise themselves. Get shot and bear it with a manly grimace. Do all sorts of impossible stunts and walk away.

Many of us probably did dumb things as kids like jump out of second story windows with umbrellas or try to jump bikes but the level is being raised by Hollywood and the results are predictably more severe.

So, Fprice, do we now initiate more legislation "for the children?"

Not unless you can legislate common sense and parental love, involvement and supervision of their children.

Maybe Jackass could show what happens to the people that try to get on their show, but don't quite make it. Something real gory.

Kinda vain of the producer to name the show after himself, huh?

    Stupid

Blaming this on a TV show is just dumb. That guy was obviously a moron. People were stupid long before Jackass and they'll be stupid long after.
