    Just saw this:

Another demonstration of a GGWAGSBGWAG. Surely won’t hear about this on the mainstream nightly. Methinks the door cam was an important asset to this man’s case. What’s your take?

All I got out of that was "...Shoots Bad Guy With A Gun."

Looks like a good case unless something else turns up.

The video and the fact that the Bad Guy Had A Gun plus the broken window is all in his favor if the glass fell inside.

I hope they give him his gun back instead of "holding it for evidence" for forty or fifty years.

A concern there is if the BG's friends and relatives decide to take revenge for the killing (you know how their minds work), he's stuck without an effective means of defense in the meantime.

Key phrase: "While he waited for police...things escalated..."

Also, it's probably unwise to give an interview to the media.

That might just be the longest acronym I've had to figure out.

Took a nap. Took another look at
    GGWAGSBGWAG.

Got it finally. Smote forehead. Felt shame. Bowed head.

And you call yourself a gun lover, Terry?

    Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Is that on our acronym list? I can't seem to find our acronym list. Maybe I should take another nap.

    Party pooper. =D :)

" 'We’ll see what the prosecutor has to say, thanks David.'

Seems she has her mind made up"

I was thinking maybe the anchor lady was mildly chastising the on-site reporter for coming to a conclusion.

Could be interpreted either way, I guess. I'm not married to either interpretation.

Sounds like a righteous shoot, but (IMO) the homeowner should have stayed inside the house.

Does MI have a castle doctrine?

My guidance would have been to not approach the door at all. Way too predictable.
As suggested by Mas Ayoob elsewhere, do your speaking from a shielded spot indoors.
It should be a very simple, loud, and direct phrase like, "POLICE ARE ON THE WAY!"

Yep, I almost skipped the post because of the title. "Another Good Guy With A Gun" title would have been clearer and more enticing. Thankfully I was on hold on the phone and had time to burn.

    YMOOT"YCIITU"H?

    A83YOTDMN.

The longest one I ever saw was on a µsoft sub-site. Must've been 25 characters long and contained another, independent, acronym.

You mean one of those "Your call is important to us" holds?

At 83yo, they drive me nuts.

Oooh yeah, remember to read the fine prints. You can’t insure criminal action. Some companies (not naming) have gone after the defendant for fees.

Post on the rapacity of insurance companies withdrawn because they have many many big high-powered salaried lawyers and I have only one itty-bitty lawyer paid by me by the hour.

But it was a gem, I tells ya true.

    And you will note:their buildings:

I'm not really up on Castle Doctrine across the U.S. Does it usually cover the householder's curtilage in the sense of your private property outside your actual house?

Best I could come up with was this:

    https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/curtilage

(I had to add "curtilage" to my dictionary.)

Good guy with a gun smokes bad guy with a gun.
Still I hope never to be in that situation though.

Having watched the video, if everything the homeowner says is true, he "should" be okay.

He said that he went outside to tell the intruder to leave, person wouldn't go. Tells them they need to get out of there and intruder breaks window.

Intruder then pulls gun out threatening homeowner, homeowner says that he was in fear for his life, shoots intruder 4 times in the chest!

Good shoot if that's what happened, has a good lawyer, Castle Doctrine on his side and DA doesn't have a wild hair up there.
