Have been lurking for awhile, and decided to 'decloak.' I'm very impressed with the caliber (so to speak) of civilized discourse here!

I just recently got into guns due to a fairly dicey situation a friend of mine is going through. (Nutshell=BG, Rape, Stalking, Death Threats, Cops Can't Do Squat, Yada Yada.) Purchased a .40 S&W Sigma and have been spending some time and $$ trying to hit approximately what I aim at. So y'all can consider me a FNG, and be prepared for a bunch of stupid questions. :D

Looking forward to talking and learning with all of you!

Learn the Four Rules, they are life. Get a class or a dozen.

Most of all, remember what Musashi said: The best Pistol is the Pistol of No Pistol!:)

I came out of the closet years ago, sweetie! ;) (LOL)

Yes indeed, I do know the Four Rules, and have impressed them upon my friend as well (we got her a Ruger P89 9mm--just don't tell her somewhat-anti roommate). I've got some experience handling a lethal weapon; one that weighs 80,000 pounds and has 18 wheels. Screwing up with a big truck can be just as lethal to oneself or innocent bystanders as screwing up with a gun. When people talk safety, I tend to listen!

SP ...... glad you decided to come out!!:p

Welcome to THR.... now enjoy. One suggestion tho ..... if you have questions ... try a few search attempts ... much of the ''usual stuff'' has been dealt with over time .. and like as not .. you might find a wealth of info .... if you already haven't.:)

    Samurai Penguin? Hmmm...

    1. What is the sound of one penguin clapping?

    2. Are the terms katana, dojo and kumite references to sub-species of the Samurai Penguin, or merely nesting locations?

    3. Do Samurai Penguins eat Kamikaze Koi-Koi and Suicidal Scallops?

    :D :D :D

Welcome, but remember, it's a Magazine not a Clip. :neener: And don't make the mistake I made when I first came here. Do a search for Wolf ammo before you ask. It's better for your mental health that way.

    Friendly place!

    1. Squawk!

    2. They're actually references to places where the walruses and leopard seals hang out. This way, we know how to avoid them.

    3. Yes, not to mention habanero herring...!
