Another New Haven man defends himself with firearm

This is the second time this year gun owners in new haven have thwarted would be attacks with a firearm. I suppose there were more. But these have been reported in the news.

Glad this guy did what he did and stayed safe.

Now new haven needs to get inline with state laws and stop requiring extra and unesecary things to get a pistol permit.

I would have punched the girlfriend afterwards. Jeez, her words could have gotten him killed. "Yes dear, go ahead and tell the nice masked man aiming his heater at my chest that I have a handgun behind my back"

Other than that, I'm glad it all turned out well :D
 
Did you guys read the comments? Fairly funny commentary. Good for the shop-owner. Does anyone know if there has ever been a retaliation to a self defense shoot? Curious.
 
The armed robber stumbled to a corner of the store, fell to the ground, picked himself up and started running. Jawad shot him again as he was leaving the store.

If he (the robber) was still holding the gun (which all indications say he was), it was still a perfectly legal shot to take; if I was in the owner's position I would have continued to fire until either he dropped, the firearm dropped, or he gave up (or until he got away).

Even if the robber was not holding onto a gun, it would be hard to bring charges against the owner because the robbers had already threatened him and his customers, and would continue to be a threat until they were incapacitated, gave up, or were gone.
