I have found a Poly-tech side folder for $500 out the door. According to the owner of the shop, these are not imported any longer, making them worth more. Is that correct and is $500 OTD a good price?

They are not imported any longer.

    If it is a factory side folder . . . . yes, it's a good buy

If it is an airsoft side folder . . . . up to you. it's your money.

Pictures would help with an accurate appraisal, of course.

I think it is factory. If it is, then what would be the average going price for those in good condition?

Poly Techs are great AKs. Does the rifle have the red side folding stock?

I do not think it was red, unless it was just worn off, which I doubt. It was just a steel frame, basically.

That is it, with the exception of the folding skeleton stock. It almost makes me wonder if I should get it, resell it, buy a Yugo or Saiga AK, and spend the rest on another bang bang. I figured it was a smokin' deal. This guy has been straight up on the other stuff I have purchased from him and has always treated me well.

The stock on the one I am looking at is like the side folder in this pic:

I would not trade off a Pre-89 Poly Tech for a Saiga. Now a Yugo, only if it was pre 89 also but not for a new Yugo.

Just thinking it may be away to get 2 guns.......more is better! Of course, if AKs are getting as scarce as some say, I might find myself having a hard time selling it.
