Jack Weaver, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Dept. Deputy Sheriff, who created a method of holding a handgun two handed for self defense shooting (and IPSC), died last Tuesday, April 7th, 2009. He was 80 years old. He lived in Carson City, Nevada.

His "method" came to be known as "The Weaver Style," or "Weaver Stance," used the world over by competitive shooters and many law enforcement agencies.

Weaver was one of the original competitors in the small group in Calif., who shot with Jeff Cooper, Ray Chapman, Thell Reed, etc., before there was "IPSC."

I've seen him shoot. He was very, very good and accurate.
