Well, we had another fun day at the range today. The weather continually threatened to be uncooperative, but it held out. We met at the Cheatham County range again, which is kinda becoming the usual place for these get-togethers.

Turn-out was good. We had folks come from as far away as Alabama (Deputy Vaughn and family) and northern Kentucky (yesterdaysyouth). There were quite a few of the locals there, a lot of the regulars and several new faces. There were a few people missing, but we'll forgive 'em (this time).

Let's see, I believe we had the following people there (I apologize if I forget someone):

    myself
    Darrin
    Bowlcut
    Glockten
einnor1040 and Janet (or is that tenaj1040?)
    kenehsr (and family)
    mwithers72
    Spanky McFly
    Deputy Vaughn
    yesterdaysyouth

All in all, it was a great time as usual. Ya'll are a great bunch of people, and I for one look forward to these monthly range days. Nothing like relieving some stress with some good friends.

Several folks had cameras, so if they'll post pics, that'll be great.

Kind'a sounds like the "Good Ole' Boy's Round-Up"
    doesn't it?:uhoh:

When my former police chief was interviewed, he
was ask by a city council member if he attended
the "Good Ole Boy's Round-Up" held by the FBI
in the great state of Tennessee?

His reply was, " No mam, the ONLY reason I didn't
was cuz my wife had too long a "HONEY DO" list
    for me to complete ".

Moral of the story is the fact he was hired that
    evening for telling the truth!

    Best Wishes,

It was good to see some familiar faces today, and good to meet some new ones.

My favorite gun today was einnor1040's Mdl. 657 Lew Horton Special. I never had much interest in the .41 Mag, until today that is. Now I want one! Nice piece, Ronnie; thanks for letting me shoot it.

Thanks to DeputyVaughn for the .44 Spl ammo. I can return your brass at the next shoot, or I can mail it back to you, whichever you prefer.

Sorry my internet connection hasnt been playing nice with me lately. But it just came up and working for the moment... hope it holds out.. Ill get to work on pics and comments they are uploaded just want to give color comentary ya know :D

Was a fun day despite weather looming and me feeling like crap. And we found out today...dont shoot a Walmart special 100 dollar NEF 12ga with slugs. Holy crap that hurts. My shoulder is still hurting im sure ill have a bruse. The 41 mag was fun to say the least. I am a fan of the odd and old tho. So the model 1917 45acp revolver was a hoot. Got to shoot the full size 10mm g20 today that was interesting. .22 lever, since it has been years since ive done that. and a few other odds and ends. was fun

ok now to work on some witty comments on the pics

well after 9 hours on the road, 550 miles, almost 1000rnds of ammo, almost as many lane changes, 25 gallons of gas, and 1 check engine light....

    wow..

first things first, i had a great time, still didn't get to meet half you guys.... i was busy turning my shoulder green, and losing some hearing...

lets go ahead and rename BG parkway to john howard speedway.... after driving up i-65 (aka the most annoying drive EVER!!!) it felt good to hit triple digits... this must be god's gift to all dirvers, very few exits, i might have passed 12 people in 75 miles, and no police... :)

i didn't think i was gonna get off of briley parkway, round and round and round, my head was spinning.... i got the CEL about 175 miles from here, talk about a tight a-hole drive after that... hopefully it's something retarded again...

    special thanks goes out to...
xm radio, for keeping me awake....
KYSP and TNSP for taking an extra long lunch...
mark, for putting up with me all day...
kenny, for helping me finish off that .32
ronnie, for hleping me finish off that .45, remind me to get a 1917...
glockten, for letting me know that my m1a will have to be scoped.... i really can't shoot wroth a crap with those sights...
and that guy with his thumb in his pocket.....:scrutiny:
i don't know if you noticed but the leo at the other end of the range sure was interested the first time you did that....

this will probally be the last time i'll get to play with you people, i'll probally be working 6 days/week until the first of the year, so be decent....

remember when scott kept getting his thumb hung in his pocket....:)

there was a local leo, or what looked like, on the oppsite end of the range... i assunme this from the big black belt full of little black leather cases, and the badge .... evidently he thought he should come check out what was going on when he heard that hyper-speed rapid fire....

    oh, i forgot to mention ... i met a good cop today....:p

who's the guy in the last pic??? he was right next to me, but he didn't stay long...

    youth,

The guy in the last pic was me. I was there for about 5 hours, but I was down at the 50 yd range most of the day.

It would have been funny had Mr. Dept. of Corrections, with duty belt and all, come to investigate the bump firing going on at the 50 yd. range. The guy doing the very rapid firing was Deputy Vaughn. How funny would that be? A screw (jail guard) trying to do an investigation, much less one where the suspect is a bonafide LEO.

There was definitly a lot of rapid firing going on today. Ahhh, it made me very happy! :D There's nothing like that sound and the smell of all that burnt powder. I love it.

The Camel Lady / Terrorist target didn't last too long when exposed to several rounds of 12 gauge.

    Scott, thanks for the holster.

The wife (and kids) and I had a fabulous time today. It was good to meet so many High Roaders. I hope the kids weren't too much trouble today. I couldn't keep up with them and shoot too. It was tough to let them shoot and me also.

Glockten: Don't worry about the brass. I'll get it later. If you reload just keep it, if not I'll get it sometime.

Yesterdaysyouth: It was strange how quiet everyone got when someone bump fired that 30 round mag. Wasn't it?

OEF Vet: Sorry about my reloads. I'll be inspecting them more closely from now on. I hope they didn't freak you out too much. It was a pleasure to meet you and everyone else also. Thanks for being so patient with my kids. We definitely will try to do it again in the coming months.

Everybody who was near me when I fired the AR. Sorry about the back blast from the compensator.

Sadly no one shot for the Virtual match today in Cheatham. But really, there were far too many distractions with that chick running around in the tropical shirt and all that rapid firing going on, not to mention those occational sonic booms.

or was that russian gun powder, ahhh ... what's the difference...

although i was distracted by the youg ladies that came in later...:scrutiny:

Glad everybody had fun. Sorry we couldn't make it to this one. We have family in town and really didn't have the ammo to shoot this time.

Who's AR has the stainless barrel? It is very, very cool.

Ok, so admit it. How many of you were out shot by the little girl, come on fess up. :D
