Ok sarcasm aside, here is a question for those that really know. In almost every pic like this I've seen there is a wet mossy area running out of the door or a crack in the wall or somewere. What are they doing, or using that causes this? I'm just curious.
There is a lot wrong in that picture, not the least of which is the child checking out the action in the street. The whole situation is wrong. But that's unfortunatly the way it is.

I have two small boys and when I saw it, I felt a little ill. BUT I realize that conflicts come with a price. What do I know?
Heck, for all we know...this could be the Dad telling his kid to get back in the house as he's leaving for "duty". No wonder a picture is worth a thousand words. It's because everyone is trying to figure out what's really going on in the photo.

Kids just like that kid are being killed all over the place over there. It's part of the deal. Don't look for war to solve the problem if you haven't the stomach for it.
That said: no country makes a more concerted effort to spare the lives of non-combatants than the US. We have more money invested in precision munitions than anyone. A higher percentage of our inventory is precision than anyone. Our military machine takes more care of more 'off-limits' sites than anyone. We show more restraint when dealing with our enemy, even to the absurdity of allowing our enemies haven and escape than anyone.
War is hell. But we do our absolute best.

We had a lot of this kind of foto's floating around in years gone by in South Africa. You would be supprised at how many are posed. Only about 1 in ten was real. I will bet that one was posted aswell. It is just to perfect a foto!

About the door, might it be the stains left on the ground from the city operating on an open sewer? Just a though.

Yeah, the photo is probably posed. Kind of like CNN paying kids to throw rocks (large ones!) at the Israelis, who fire back with rubber bullets. CNN gets more "nasty Israeli troops" footage. They don't give a crap about the kids.
And yes, this really does happen, I know three people who've seen it happen on different occasions, all of whom are news photographers in Israel.

Don't get caught up in propaganda. Many small out of the way places have been wiped from the face of the earth by the US military. The stories and pictures just aren't released to the media. There are far to many vets telling stories of killing everything that moved. Carpet bombing couldn't selectively miss villages that were close by the target. There was a meaning to "Kill em all and let God sort em out".

Also, without knowing what exactly is going on there and who those people are I'm not going to get all upset.
We have no real info about the photo and as such it is natural to try to "fill in the blanks" ... often we are led by others in the direction they want those blanks filled (just read the title of this thread and look at the picture).
Think about this photo by Oleg .... think about it with the title of this thread instead of the caption thats on it.

I have a son who is about the same age as the what the kid in th epicture looks. I can see this happening. I can't count the number of times my kid has pushed the boundaries and I have to tell him "stop, owies, go back, etc" and he will smile at me and do it anyhow. Kids at that age are so damn innocent. You put my kid and that kid on the playground and they woul dbe best friends in 5 minutes.

Friend of mine got shot by a kid was around 10 or 11. Thankfully, it was only a 9mm handgun, not an AK47. My buddy's out of the military now on a medical discharge. He was rather upset by having to kill a kid, but it's one of those things in life.
Kid's not that much older than the one in the photo are actual enemy soldiers. AK-47 and everything.
