I'm researching my first can for 22LR and the Silencerco Sparrow is pretty well regarded. Is there any real competition for similar price? A local dealer has a Tactical Solutions Cascade Ti. It seems like a good unit and it costs a bit less than the Sparrow.

Any advice?

As dirty as .22LR cans get, the Sparrow quickly pays for itself in ease of cleaning compared to others. IMHO there is really no other choice unless you are willing to clean after every couple of hundred rounds. I usually go 1000 rounds before taking apart my Sparrow.

Here is a photo of mine after its first ~1000 rounds:

I don't know how a mono-tube and single core would rotate enough to unscrew for removal with this much crud build up, the Sparrow came apart, no problem.

The rimfire cans that are considered first in class are usually the Element, Sparrow, Spectre and one or two from Liberty that I can't remember. All are supposedly good cans, but I too saw the asset of ease of maintenance in the Sparrow and went with that. The Spectre II is also supposed to be easy to take apart, has similar dB ratings with the Sparrow and is $100 cheaper as well, but it wasn't released yet when I was looking to purchase so the Sparrow was it.
