Hey all,

I'm looking at picking up a new set of handguards for my AR, since I was bitten by the Magpul bug way back when, and now it just looks too "standard" for my tastes. I also want to extend the length of the handguards so that only about 2-3 inches of the barrel protrudes out of them. My AR has a 16 inch barrel, so I was thinking that these would do the trick, with the added bonus of having integrated front sights. Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences with these?

I have the 13" without the sight. I absolutely love it. It's light weight, a good diameter, and it has stayed snug (though I used a little purple Loc Title). It was pretty easy to put on.

I'd definitely recommend at least one package of the squid grips. The holes are a little sharp if you're holding it with bare hands.

I also have the Troy Alpha 13" rail on my 16" AR. I love this rail and was going to buy another one, but I couldn't find one. It locks up solids, is light , and I love the modularity of it.

The squid grips are nice, but I just picked up some grommets from the hardware store and got the same effect for much less $, though it doesn't look as nice.

Interesting idea. I was going to buy another pack of squid grips to give my hand a little more room (only have one set). I might have to try that in the interim to see how I like it.
