Any Foreign Units Use the 10mm?

I know it's far fetched, but have any special military, spec ops, or foreign police used any 10mm handguns? Our Navy SEALS seem to be able to use what they want, based on need and personal choice, in some instances, so foreign spec/ops people might occasionally choose more powerful guns if allowed. Anyone encounter or know of such?

Despite the F.B.I. switching to the .40 S&W, there are still a number of law enforcement agencies that continue to issue the 10mm including the Albuquerque J.P.D. and the Anniston P.D. as well as in Canada, where the Alberta Sheriffs employ it in the Glock 20.

The Government of Denmark has issued the Glock 20 pistol chambered for the 10mm Auto cartridge to members of the Sirius Patrols in Greenland.The pistols were issued as a defense against polar bears which the patrols encounter.

Actually, with just being "autoloader", I'd pick a Ma Deuce, myself.

Wonder how well a Wildey would do, there's not many of them around. Automag feels like an ugly brick in my hand, regardless of what Mr. Eastwood thought of them

Pretty good I would expect. I've got one and it's actually quite a bit more powerful than the 50 AE. Not a very comfortable grip on it either though.

I guess I didn't say it tho I was thinking of the auto loaders glock offered as that seems to be what police department issue.

I'd rather pack a Glock 20 into the ice, on my hip, all day, thant some of those heavy caliber boat anchors. The reality of having to CARRY a weapon day in and day out changes the choices a bit.

May not be ideal for big bear defense, but if you have to balance day to day police activity, it looks much better. Especially since they probably keep slug-loaded shotguns handy, or some kind of rifle.

Just because bears are a consideration when they choose their sidearm, doesn't mean they intentionally rely on their 10mm pistols as bear defense weapons.

strykerfire, I don't agree with being a polar bear's lunch, either. I remember there is a northern Norwegian village that has a sign reminding people to carry a rifle when they leave town, due to aggressive bear attacks.

I must agree with Strykerfire. Poor little Polar Bear. Just so cute and cuddly. Who cares if they are one of the only animals known to actively hunt man.

G20 FTW!!! I love mine, but in all seriousness I think I'd take a high powered rifle,(.338 Lapua, .50 BMG, etc) and a lot of distance B/F I'd pick my Glock to combat a Polar Bear. Maybe a 10 ga for up close. lol
