or even a pump? i want a new toy. i have many semi auto guns. i want something different and cheap to shoot. if not whats the better brand of lever action .22 carbines?

Never heard of a 9mm lever/ or pump rifle...

Of current production .22LR lever action rifles, the top dog is the Marlin 39A, but it does come in at the around $400 price range. A less expensive option is the Henry lever series, but they have an aluminum reciever, as opposed to the forged steel of the Marlin. The Browning BL-22 is also another option, but it costs even more than the Marlin, and I believe that Browning commands a premium price due to name rather than quality. The Winchester 9422 is a top quality rifle like the Marlin, but good luck finding one at a reasonable price...

There are basically two options in the .22 pump arena that you may want to look at too. There is the Rem. 572 and the Tarus pump rifle.

I cannot comment on used out of production rifles as they are so varied. But they are out there if you can come across them at a reasonable price.
