I have been thinking about buying one of these ever since I saw one. For some reason I have held out thus far. I would like to hear from people who actually own and shoot one. Is the gun worth the price tag. I already have a few good 1911s.
Thanks for any input you may have.

    Best Regards,
    Billy

Own a few. Bang for the buck, there is not a firearm on the market that comes close to what 945 is. The shooting qualities, fit and finish of this pistol is unheard of for the price. Grip is of different shape and size than a 1911 and some like it and others don't. So the gun is not for everyone. I'm extremely satisfied with the quality S&W has been producing in their Performance Center pistols.

Ditto. For the money it can't be beat, mine has over 15,000 rounds through it with no malfunctions, even with my crappy reloads. It will shoot with my Les Baer, which cost me $1100 more, and I haven't shot my SV enough to tell, but I bet it will be pretty close.

    Thanks for the input guys.

Well you folks certainly are not trying to talk me out of buying one. I will move it from my "want one" list to my "must have" list.

    Best Regards,
    Billy

I have the 845. The same gun for all practicall purposes.
It's been used for police combat for the last two years. I reload, 200gr lead semi wad over 3.5 gr Bullseye.
I have used it to take my class in the Illinois Police Assn. Top Gun Matches two of the last five years.

    It is a fine weapon.
Extremely accurate, totally dependable, and all right out of the box.
Smith's Performance Center makes fine weapons.

I just took delivery of a 952, and expect great things from it.

      oops.

My post above now reads 3.5 gr Bullseye for the 45ACP load.

    Sorry 'bout that.

Tman: I will report about the 952 as soon as I get to the range.
I am concocting some reloads for it w/ 115 and 124 bullets.
