I have lived in AR all my life and pride myself on being observant. In all this time, I have seen only one "no carry" type sign on private property, and that was at a bar. The only public property places I have seen a similar sign was at a public school and City Hall. Not even the Courthouse has one that I noticed. (memory may be faulty on that...)

So, has anyone not seen an Anti-CCW sign on a private business that didnt have carry already prohibited by law?

I've never seen a no-firearms sign in Massachusetts...

    Mike,

I've can't ever remember seeing a "no-firearms" sign in Massachusetts, but they must be here somewhere.

I take that back, the classroom in one of the Ranges I shoot at has a "No Firearms or Ammunition Allowed" sign.

    Respectfully,

Faded Rose Restaurant in Little Rock .

Yep many know, many wrote in , even folks from out of state communicated displeasure . Many will not frequent, even folks from afar if they come to LR.

*someone* made this known about the Faded Rose. ;)

I have not seen one in Florida except for place forbidden by state law to carry.

I never saw one in the People's Republic of California. I've never seen one in the two and a half years I've lived in Colorado.

The only one I've seen in Florida was at a Waffle House.

Likely most businesses here never bothered when CCW first became available, because the signs have about the same legal weight as a "No Food Or Beverages" sign. I.e., virtually none.

CCW's been legal here without problems for so many years now that I doubt anyone thinks much about it.

The only private establishment I've noticed a "No Guns" posting on in Utah is a dollar theater in Provo. I give it and the "No Outside Food/Drinks" at it & other theaters a passing smirk as I walk in with my CZ P-01 strapped IWB and candy in pocket carry. :p

Standing Wolf is right, they do not use those signs on private businesses in California because the perception still is that it is not legal to carry anywhere in the state.

In truth, though, there are a few lucky people who are allowed to carry. But still no signs.

Any signs I have ever seen have been worded to say "illegal weapons prohibited" or something to that effect. I live in the Empire State where it is so difficult to get a carry permit once you have it you can pretty much go anywhere.

Ditto on never seeing one in CA. CCW is way off most people's radar. Most people assume that you can't.

I have never seen one in MI, which is a shall-issue state.

I live in AR too and have never seen a no firearms sign except at schools. I've heard that Park Plaza mall is posted but I refuse to go to LR to shop or anything. I see quite a few of the " No shirt,No shoes, No service" signs though.

Haven't seen one in Oregon. Not even in the People's Metropolitan Area of Portland.

Never seen one in NH except at courthouses (about the only place prohibited by law) and at the airport security check-in.

 The Pheasant Lane mall has, or used to have, a sign listing unacceptable behavior which included something like "visual display of weapons", which is fair enough. It implictly allows concealed weapons, and a crowded mall literally right next to the Mass border isn't a real wise place to open carry anyway.

I am not that widely travelled but yet to see one in PA - of course the ''usual'' Fed limitations apply but then we would not I think expect to see signs there necessarily.

In essence - barring very remote instances, I can and do carry - 16/7

Never seen one in Washingon (state) (courthouses excepted), although there was one hospital up here that has a small sign with a pistol silhouette in the red circle with the slash through it (and strangely no explanation) by the front entrance ... WA was one of the original shall-issue states from way back and concealed carry is routine here.

"what's that? you mean someone could actually carry a concealed weapon in here if you didn't post that sign?"

    I love california.

Proudly carrying a legally concealed weapon, pretty much everywhere in San Francisco...

I've never seen a sign like that anywhere in California. CCWs just aren't on anyone's radar.

In Michigan, private businesses don't have an option of barring CCW's. State law dictates where and when.

Never seen one in Idaho or Washington.

The general rule of thumb here is "Oh... ok. It's ok if you have a liscense. Just not if you don't." :neener:

The only ones I have seen here in PA, and it is one that is put up without basis in legality, are the ones on the doors of Pittsburgh International Airport.

Yes, the Allegheny County Police actually believe that they can arrest you for carrying a concealed weapon anywhere on the property... not just in the sterile area. I called them last year and challenged them, and they told me I would be arrested if found with a weapon not ready to be checked as luggage. Curiously, NO ONE could cite the law that I would be charged under.

I know where this is, and it is the only place that I have ever seen a no firearms sign as well in this state.

I've seen them in hospitals in Indiana. But apart from LE places, nowhere else.

"illegal weapons prohibited" signs. That cracks me up.

I think I'll make up a giant sign visible from the highway saying,
" IT IS ILLEGAL TO BREAK THE LAW!! "
