I recently was given a star model b, I have been fixing it up. Refinishing, polishing, and some other small projects. I have only been able to find replacement parts in a few areas on the internet. I was wondering if anybody could give me any info, and maybe a good parts supplier?

Is this the 9mm Largo? If so, great pistol. In fact, extremely accurate. Early now, my mind and no coffee; can't think too well. But, in Shotgun News, there are a few dealers that sell them and have parts kits. Sorry, but I can't recall the dealers, but others reading this will jump in...
Good choice.:)

Numrich Gun Parts Corp and SARCO should be able to get anything you need for a Star B.

Back in 60's, 70's, and 80's Star pistols were reguared as cheap Spanish copies of Colt 1911's chambered in 9mm. IMO that's a very one sided look at things. They look like 1911's but there are quite a few differences. The Star B series pistols were desgined and built to military standards. They were at one time or the other issued side arms of the Spanish military and police.

I have a NIB Star B Super in 9mm Par and IMO it's a nicely machined and finished pistol. It's not worth much and probally never will be, so I don't have a clue why it's still NIB and unfired after all these years but I just don't ever shoot it. One of those deals where I bought it for nothing put it in my safe and forgot about it for a while... Maybe now I'm stuck on the it's not built anymore thing....

I also have a Star BM that I bought used (and abused). I've shot it quite a bit and even thou there is some wear and tear it is still more than capable if I do my part.

Bad thing is, by now most Stars are at least 20+yrs old. Many were imported here as Military and Police surplus -so already well used. Because they were low priced weapons even when new, they were lowly reguarded and treated like "truck guns".... To say never taken care of - would be an understatement considering some of the Stars I've seen. It's too bad IMO, when taken care of properly they are as capable as any weapon.

Good luck fixing up your Star.

i had a 9mm largo,20 years ago,1st auto, shot fine,i was reading where saving private ryan, couldnt get colt .45"s to cycle dummy rounds/pop rounds whatever and they substituted star pistols insome of the the action scenes.star pistols are almost forgotten.

does anybody know how to make pictures bigger?

just be careful dry firing the weapon, their firing pins are brittle. I had a BM that ended up with a broken firing pin as a result of lots of practice!!!

sarco is selling some star 9mm's right now for like $150. from what im reading this may not be a bad deal on a 1911 esque 9mm.

EDIT: apparently they are chambered for 9mm Largo (9x23mm) a weird cartridge but they have a ton of it in stock for good prices.

nice job with the refinish. from what i can see she looks great.

Star parts

Check out gunboards forums for a guy named STAR.
He lives in Spain and sells NOS Star parts, and some quality reproduction parts like grips.
Good prices, good service, nice guy.

What Rex B said. I got parts for my B, BM and PD from STAR. Great experience, fast shipping. Makes you realize how small the world is now. And no, Star pistols are not made to dry fire. And if you have a BM, you should make sure you have the inertial firing pin, especially if you carry one in the chamber.
