Hmmm... Normally I abhor porting on snubbies, but for this one, I think I'll make an exception! :D

I'll have to keep an eye out for one of those "fired once" deals once those hit the market. I shot a 4" S&W 500 the other night and rather enjoyed the experience. Not enough to pay $700+ for a revolver, but I enjoyed it.

Wow. Just... wow. That, I must say, is the craziest thing I have ever seen. I assume it comes with some sort of homing beacon so you can find it in the parking lot.

That little thing weighs more than the 4" S&W, the smith is 56oz and the taurus is 68oz. It's only 4.5oz shy of the 8" S&W

I can see Joe Piscopo with that one, "It's an .88 Magnum. It shoots through schools."

Taurus makes a gun that's less ugly than Smith & Wesson? Amazing!

Seriously, what is that from? I heard a sound clip on the net a long time ago, it went "dun dun dun" and a guys voice came on and sais "its an 88 magnum..... It shoots through schools". I was lost as to what movie that was from, and what the hell a 88 magnum is :what: .

Also, does anyone have a 1 to 1 scale picture of that beast? I want to see if it would come close to fitting my hand..

    Where's cortez kid?

    He's gotta see this!

    :D

He's responsible for getting me hooked on them 500s. I shot the 8" barrel one he had and, while I wouldn't shoot it all day, I thought the recoil was acceptable. I think the lightweight .357 snubbie hurts more. The hot rounds in the 500 do make a nice "CRACK" when they go off. I did manage to pull one 10 ring at ~25 yds with it. Don't ask me where the rest went. :D

If it's nearly as heavy as the 8" model it shouldn't be too bad. The hardest part of shooting the 8" was holding it up on target!

I have a 415 Taurus like this in .41mag. If the 500 acts like the .41 everybody will be disappointed when it doesn't flip out of their hand and bounce off twenty people behind them. :D Other than the noise associated with ports these are a joy to shoot.

The four inch 500 has more of a concussion than a recoil. You feel it all over your body. I couldn't imagine what would happen with a 2". I wanted 280PLUS to feel the crack of the 8" because it's the worst of the bunch-he he.
It's kind of like a guy with a new sound system. First thing he wants to do is show how loud it gets. The thing about 280PLUS that got me upset was the way he took my mod64 and cross shot sideways to my .38 target and nailed all of them. My wife actually thought I was shooting better. :cuss: 280, I've been practising
That Taurus looks mitey nice. I would like to shoot a few through it. Got a bad taste for Taurus over a little semi auto I have, but I think I'd take a chance on that one!

If that half inch wide bullet misses, the shockwave and fireball will eliminate the intended target....
I would love to see this fired at night.

BLOODY HELL!!! All it's missing is a hook under the barrel. You know, to hang a cinder block from....

I'd get the Smith and shorten the barrel to 1.75". Lighter and still stronger than the Taurus!

Well it will be easy to spot the guy that owns one at the range.

He will be the man with no eyebrows or eyelashes, and a big pink singe mark on the tip of his nose.

Just make sure that the ceiling at the range is not made of any flamable material.

The gun has a hang tag on it that says: WARNING DO NOT SET YOUR CLOTHES ON FIRE.
