The other sound I heard in the clip was projectiles hitting metal....which makes me think he was shooting at the truck but not with a .22lr

If you play it by pausing and starting very quickly, you can see flame exit the muzzle, and spent cartridges exit the action.

I haven't a clue if it was "staged" or not. It could be crimped blanks. :D Seriously.

i didnt think that one could pass on the ice road, unless going the opposite way. thats why they have backups when someone breaks down. besides, thats his employee, and a hurt, or harmed employee makes no money. should he have done it???? no, but how many things have we done that afterwards, we say..... dough!!!!

I watch it too and I like the show. The guy firing the gun is "Polar Bear". He is running four trucks with the help of 3 hired hands. I enjoy the show but I did not think the gun shooting was too bright. Just gives the antis more fuel against us. The one trucker I like the best is Alex. He has been driving the Ice Road for 25 years and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I have 2 bothers in laws that are Canadian and he reminds me of them.

Frankly, I'm just amazed so many of you dufuses were watching that stupid show. I thought I was the only shiver-brains who tuned it in. And on a related topic, have you ever in your life seen any network promote a show as much as THC promoted that one? Jeez, it'd better be good. I mean, we'd better get real life footage of a polar bear humping one of those drivers or somethin.

Well. in my case I don't watch much T.V. and have only regular cable, no Satallite or Digital, it still amazes me there are enough people around my area that the cable company actually ran the lines out this far, but anyway, my choices are History Channel, PBS, or sitting with the kids and watching Cartoon Network, ugh.
If I hear Paula Dean say "Hey Y'all" on the Food Network one more time,,,,,

I get my news off the net and the radio and gave up on the TV news quite a long time ago.

The hype made it look good, but I found out that if you simply watched the commercials for it, you pretty much saw the entire show with the boring parts cut out.

The shooting part was one of the most idiotic things I've seen on TV- I pretty much had enough of the show after that scene.:barf:

It looked like a Buckmark or some variation of a Ruger MKll to me.
That guy is a bozo. Earlier he was saying what POS his employees are.
Real class. He's just a lowlife playing to the camera.

Looked real to me, and that's all that really matters, because people will believe it was real. I also clearly saw the slide lock back, looked like a Browning Buckmark shooting real .22LR off into the snow banks.

Even if it was firing blanks, I have a feeling that the Canadians would have a law against carrying unsecured firearms in a vehicle.

Anyone know what their transportation laws are?

If you watech the entire series, you discover that Hugh was/is not exactly the boy scout type. He proudly boasted that he was kicked out of every bar from in Yelloknife. We was quite the brawler in his day.

You have to understand that gun attitudes change in the states North and South, in Canada they change East and West. Western Canada is not filled with the same law and order types you find in Ottawa and Toronto. There is a much more independant streak out there. Totally cowboy.

Man, you guys take TV way too seriously. Is this the first time you've ever seen something fake/stupid/pre planned? Of course he was showing off for the camera, most of you would probably show off too with a camera in your face for that long.

As for what he was doing, he shot a .22 out the window into a vast empty wasteland. Big friggin deal. He wasn't shooting AT anybody. Loosen your panties a little bit.
