Anyone else spinning their wheels so hard shooting had taken a back seat?

Had to take a few weeks off for the myocardial infarction, but no. Practice on Tuesdays, usually indoor. Indoor match every Thursday. Outdoor matches every other Saturday. Looking forward to September with 4 outdoor matches, including USPSA Nationals and GA State.

Even though I'm retired I am shooting less. Like most retired folks I'm busy but the reason I'm not shooting as much as I would like to is because my MS causes me to have extreme fatigue. Just getting the guns and gear loaded up tires me out.

I've seen people struggle with MS. I am sorry you're having to deal with it.

I considered going to the old indoor range were I like to shoot but with the recent rise in positive cases change my mind.

I got my own outdoor range, but I skip most of summer. too hot and wet. more yard work in the summer as well. ammo shortages and higher prices ain't helping either. plus working harder to keep afloat, like everyone else.

if ya live on the acreage that's way better. wish I did, but I dont. hour and change plus drive one way to my range. that limits the fun a bit as well. involves more time management on the weekends and after work hours.

I was going pretty regularly during the height of the coronavirus issue, I'm retired too. The range was one of the few places that I could go. But the past 2 weeks have been crazy. Two weeks ago my daughters bathroom floor needed replacing. The home is just over 100 years old and at some point someone put particle board under ceramic tile. I spent several days tearing down to the floor joists to repair it. Of course nothing in a house that old is square, or level.

Then a week ago Friday my son closed on a house. This one was built in 1969 and needed some work and repainting the interior before we moved him in yesterday. Still a few things to go, I have his guns and safe on my truck as I type. I stopped by my house for a break before heading to his new place to unload.

My problem is WFH. There's never any break, not even a commute. And, if you are staying in, and only drive perhaps once a week, the days drag on and on. It's also curst hard to have a Sick Day while WFH--the office is right there on your home computer, the work and emails are piling up, no matter how bad you feel.

I was scheduled for a vacation in April. My only real day off was Memorial Day, and I went through email. Sigh.

Work at home is of my choosing and for my family.
I don't envy you.

My 4-16*42 Nikon for my 300 mag came in 3 weeks ago. I didn't take it out of the box until Tuesday. It's still sitting on the counter waiting with no light at the end of the tunnel.
nope, not here. my range opened up about 1.5 months ago, to 1 hour of time, for all of us, members or not.

recently as last week, that time is now 1.5 hours per person

i go either once or twice myself each week.

Been getting in 6 / 8 hours week at the range. Long ago caught up on my reloading- :) Have three place I can shoot, closest
range is a short 15 minutes away. important to keep up skill level these days- always really. :)

My range closed for a few weeks, but it is open again. I shoot indoors at Palmetto State Armory about 4 days a week. I try to avoid weekends and shoot mostly around lunchtime weekdays.

Yeah I was right there with you. It has been rough. I finally realized that I needed to set some boundaries, but that’s not always possible. I hope you can find some balance.

I am taking the week off. I had been planning on heading to a local range this week but to be honest the way COVID cases have been trending locally I am leaning towards not. My family and I have been working hard to keep ourselves as safe as possible and it would be rather unfortunate to undo all of our efforts for a bit of selfish fun.

I've been working some overtime, but only a few hours here and there; I have to split my time between the Vision Center and the Pharmacy. (Pharmacy because I am HIPAA certified) I shoot Trap leagues every Thursday, but haven't shot rifle or pistol for about a month -month and a half. I haven't even had time to load the 350 .45's I have left, because I have to load Trap loads first. Yeah, I know, first world problems......

I have been busy full speed since this covid thing started. Company has a secure work at home system that has suddenly taken off like a rocket. Business is good. Can hardly find time to shoot the pellet gun in the back yard. I was already busy traveling two weeks or so a month.

My range open with limited schedule few weeks ago.
However, one safety officer got the covid therefore close again.
Honestly. I'm reluctant to go indoors one, noise, safety and the like reasons.
Getting, my supplies by mail lately since no funny shows.
Man my steel targets are rusting in my trunk.

Since the uncontrolled outdoor shooting area 30 minutes from me in Roosevelt NF reopened on June 9th, my son's and I have been shooting 6 times since then..again this Friday. No indoor ranges for this nearly .7 offa century guy. No indoor anything but my home..

Ammo by mail..hasn't been an issue..just gotta look a little longer/harder..223/556, 38Special, 9mm, 22LR, 380...not hard to find online.

Lets call it The Covid Crapshoot. Trouble is your odds of winning are really good unfortunately. Set my brother up with a 40 foot indoor pellet pistol range in his cellar this last weekend. Took today off fof me. I am on call over the Fourth and the week after, now they have notice I am taking off 2 weeks after that. Sanity time.

Probably about the same amount. Work on some loads on Saturdays before everyone else is up, try them out on Sunday mornings. Sometimes get off work a little early and have time to get a hundred or so downrange through the week.

I haven't renewed my membership ($550/yr)at the range since I don't know if it's still going to be in business in 6-12 months. It's only 12 lanes and restricted to 6 due to distancing restrictions. I rarely see more than a couple lanes being used now. Masks mandatory, you have to call from outside to get OK to enter. I pay $30/hour twice a month. I hope they don't close but have my doubts. I used to go every week.
