It is in N.C. a dude held up in his house comes out with a shotgun walks off the porch where he surprises 3 SWAT guys who quickly dispatch of him with some sort of Auto., might be a MP5......

The video is on leenks.com...... I would post it but I am at work and that page as some smut links on it and I don't want to get in trouble but it is on todays front page. Anyone who looks at it feel free to post a link to it, it is worth watching.

Not that this should keep you from posting it, or discussing it but......
This was posted and discussed extensively a couple years ago.

Sorry

I've seen most of these types of videos but hadn;t seen this one, didn't find it when I searched either. Hopefully some new people will get to see it if it has not been posted in a couple years.

Don't be sorry.
If we only talked about new subjects, there would be nothing to talk about.

I'm sorry, but could anyone post the actual video? My browsers (all three of them) crash whenever they try to play an imbedded .wmv

El rojo, hopefully the flame war you have brought down upon yourself is not serious. There are dozens of reasons how the insurgents who shot an unarmed civilian pilot in cold blood are different from cops that had no choice but to take down an armed civilian who was threatening to kill his father. However, if you want to get bogged down in symantecs, Im sure the police could have used comm, and told the team he was coming around the building. OR, have them waiting with some sort of non leathal ammo or something, but we all know how effective that is  . but anyway, the key term you used was "executed". the SWAT team didnt execute anyone. They dispatched him :D

I agree with most folks that the actual shooting was justifed. I have no idea
if the police activity on this mans land was justified or not.

It looked to me like he walked around the corner and scared the crap out of the officers. Got himself killed. Bummer for him.

THERE IS NO WAY THE PERSON IN CHARGE OF THIS CONFRONTATION SHOULD HAVE ALLOWED THE SWAT TEAM TO BE SUPRISED.

That is the only problem I can see.

Looks pretty straightforward to me. The moral of this story has two parts. (1) Do not threaten to kill people, or the police will come to collect you. (2) Do not instigate a standoff with the police and then point a shotgun at guys armed with automatic weapons.

Was that an MP-5k (forward hand looked upright, especially when recoiling) firing in 3-shot burst mode? That's cool, it's tragic, but it's good example of how you can shoot 4 bursts instead of 4 shots in the same time, well a little longer.

I think that maybe the officer would have been more accurate firing in semi-auto, maybe, I'm just guessing though, especially as directly behind the deceased were many people, some of them probably important.

Also does it look like the first burst was fired sort of off-hand? Probably because he had to take time to shout 'drop the gun', and also had to react he didn't have time to do both well. The first 3-shot burst makes 2 puffs of dust in the ground behind the guy (again, lucky camera crew and hostage negotiators) and the guy sort of winces like he's hit in the upper thigh or pelvis. Then of course the second burst is higher, and the third burst is chest or head, and the last burst follows him downwards.

I guess what it shows is that if the dead guy had been aggressive their would have been some injuries, no matter how fast you are the other guy could have shot accurately too, had that been his intention. I guess the real message is don't point a shotgun at commandos, especially if you don't intend to actually use it!

Come to think of it the firing officer had really incredible discipline, he didn't fire until just as the muzzle traversed towards him, incredible patience and quick decision making (or maybe it was just a coincidence, lol what do I know). Well, he forgot to aim, that costs him some points, but still cool.

Also, that wasn't all that controllable. Even with crazy adrenaline boost the shooter could have done just as well with an Uzi or Sterling, maybe MP5 is just fashion-piece after all. The mechanics are silly and un-necessary for a pistol-calibre.

That's rough. It looks to me like his swinging the shotgun in their direction could have just been a surprise reaction. I didn't see any indication that he knew the cops were over there. Of course, without more of the situation than I saw on the video, it's impossible to really tell. The cops definately had to shoot him but it is hard to tell whether it was his fault or just a horrible mistake.

I couldn't tell from the audio whether it had been announced to him that police were outside. Most likely he had been notified and was trying to shoot him some cops or was trying to have a suicide by cop. Or, he could've just had some major mental issues.

If anyone is having trouble downloading the video, I found another copy at http://www.tgfn.com/video/swatkill.asf.

Well, they couldn't wait to see what he was going to do with the shotgun he pointed at them, now could they.

Stupidity is like any other disease-sometimes it's fatal.

I would definitley say that it looks like both the cops and the topless shotgunner were surprised...

To me it looks like the first hit the guy took went through his thigh, and it looks like there were a couple misses into the dirt also. This would indicate to me that they didn't see him coming, and indeed may have not even had their had their weapons shouldered when they saw him. Might have fired their first rounds into the dirt in a panic before they were able to get their guns shouldered and on target.

Also, I think it is hard to tell from the video what the cops are carrying, and what mode they are firing in. The shots come quickly, but there are three cops, and I've heard that you can pull a lot quicker in semiauto under stress than you can otherwise...

All speculation of course.

Well since the narriator said that the police had been negotiating with the man for several HOURS, if he didn't suspect his house was surrounded by police, then he really was a moron.

The version I watched must've been shorter than the one you saw. I didn't hear the narrator say anything like that. All I heard him say was "He steps off the porch and moves toward the side of the house....With the man pointing his weapon in the officer's direction, they had no choice but to defend themselves."

Regardless, this was 100% a justified shoot for the individual officers. A man pointed a weapon at them so they fired. Well done on their part. It was almost certainly a good shoot in general as most likely the police were there for a valid reason. Just to satisfy my own curiousity I would like more details though.
