I am considering purchasing one for my Kimber ultra Super Carry 2. I would appreciate your experience with this holster.

I bought one for my Keltec PF9. When it arrived I was shocked by how big it was. It does not even come close to the size of an ordinary cell phone holder, probably twice the size.

To be fair it did seem to be quality made, but I could not get past the size. The folks at Sneaky Pete were super nice and allowed me to return it. If I was considering one I would get the dimensions & cut out a cardboard template to get an idea of the size. Just my two cents.

A friend of mine brought one over to show me.....I thought it looked more like an iPad cover than a cell phone pouch...
They are nice and made very well.....but big.

Rut - did you buy one? What gun?

So I got a reply last night. Here is what I asked:

Can you please give me the actual external dimensions of your belt loop holsters for Springfield Armory XDs (45), Sig P238, and Kahr PM9 and CM9?

Thanks,

Paul

Hello Paul,

Sorry for the late reply, we are at a trade show with limited access.
The best visual is if you draw a square around your gun, our holsters are no larger than they have to be to carry the gun,
Each holster is specifically made for each gun make , model and configuration.

Did not exactly answer my question. Do they know people think they are too big?

Well, they can't make them smaller than the gun is, can they?

I'm not trying to be a smartdonkey here. So I'm not sure where you are coming from.

Does the Sneaky Pete company have any idea of some of their customer's perceptions? I get the feeling some people perceive the holsters are too voluminous relative to the gun model. I ask for the dimensions for Sneaky Pete holsters for three of my guns. They didn't answer.

OK. Anna from SneakyPete responded back this AM. She gave me the dimensions and pointed out that they are on the website. Sometimes I'm just going too fast.

Anyway she was great. And I think figured something out. The XDs 45 and the Sig P238 holsters seem sized perfectly. (Assuming the dimensions are outside dimensions). But the Kahr PM9 and CM9 are over by 1/2" to maybe 3/4" on the length - I could see maybe just a few sizes creating some comments by people.

I ordered the one for my XDs 45.

It showed up today.

First of all: Very good and quick service!

The holster is well made. There is an angled muzzle support piece toward the - back, bottom - so to speak. Holds the gun nice. It's not at all too big for my SA XDs - fits perfectly. Fits high, ie better for hiding under a shirt or jacket. It looks kinda big, but only because I know it has a gun inside! Remember the XDs is a .45, not a micro gun.

Think hard and deep about carrying this way, it's not for everyone. It is concealed carry, but it is an external holster. Some situations, outdoors in an OK place or whatever - great. But there are times when you need deep cover, IWB fits that bill.

I don't know, I really like mine,, yea more of a tablet type of cell phone holster,, But walk in a movie theater, or shopping mall, or grocery store,, Have been alot of places, where open carry would really freak out people,, Mine is for my LC9, Walking around 500 people they don't even notice or probly care,, So works for me,, deep carry is a tegua pancake, with cover shirt,

I ordered one for a KelTec P3AT which is a very small gun. I opened the package and immediately put it back in the envelope to send back. It wasn't passable in my opinion. I've never seen a cell phone that big. My Kel Tec isn't much bigger than my iphone, but I guess the case added up to just that much more visually. Well made however.

I watched a video on you tube of this guy reviewing it for his XD40 subcompact. It looked like he was carrying a small pizza around on his hip.
