I have a chance to get a VERY lightly used(~50 rounds) Taurus 1911B-1 for $425.

After reading reviews it seems that the gun is a very good buy and offers lots of value, but some reviews said the finish was not up to par with other finishes. These reviews were from the 2010-11 time frame.

The guy gave me the serial number and it is a 2015 model. Has Taurus improved their finishes on their 1911s over the last few years? I recently bought a Taurus PT111-G2 and the finish is very nice on that gun.

He sent me pics of the gun and it looks fantastic.

Do the Taurus brand of guns have a full length guide rod?

    Thanks.

I bought one of the first pt1911 and never had a problem with it that I can remember, reloads or factory. It had a full length guide. The finish was just OK, but good enough for me (if you shoot/holster a lot any finish will wear eventually) accuracy was ok, trigger was ok, but for the price I thought is was a really good deal. Nothing broke on it yet. just my $.02.
