To any Makarov fans in the Triangle area:

I just got off the phone with Classic Arms, a vendor who frequents several of the NC gun shows including the tri-monthly Dixie Classic in Raleigh. This is the vendor I got both my Bulgarian Mak and my CZ-52 from.

At the last Raeigh show they had for sale a beautiful CZ-52 that they had just finished nickel-plating. I wanted to know if they would be bringing another to the next show, and I was told that they had backed off on the plating, it was all they could do to break even on them. They had the CZ marked up an extra $60 over the price of the standard surplus '52's ($179 vs. $119), and that's about what it costs them to do the plating, but they didn't feel there would be much interest at a higher price.

Basically what transpired was that I expressed my desire for a plated Makarov, and my perfect willingness to pay at least $60 over the cost of the normal Bulgies, which they typically sell for $149. He told me that they should be able to do it, they don't usually do just one but since they had a confirmed buyer they probably would and have it waiting for me at the Nov. 20-21 gunshow in Raleigh.

After I hung up I got to thinking, the guys at Classic Arms have always been great, and I would like to make this project more worth their while if I can, buy upping their volume a bit.

So, is their anybody else interested in picking up a custom nickel-plated Bulgaran Makarov 9x18 at the 11/20-11/21 Dixie Classic show in Raleigh, for $209? Or alternatively, a nickel CZ-52 in 7.62x25 for about $180? Let me know ASAP, if I can confirm a few more sales for Classic Arms I'd like to let them know as soon as possible so they don't have to rush to have them ready.
