I knew that was coming...

I don't know of published serial number lists or the like- I'd guess calling the company with the serial number handy might be the best approach.

ETA- It can't be any older than 1961- that's when the 500 was introduced.

Yeah, and you're gonna be here all week, and by the way, try the veal.

C'mon, folks. Once was humorous, how about more help and less funny at this point?

Well, being this close to Memphis the bbq might not be a bad idea. I was afraid that there wouldn't be a way to do it, but thanks anyways.

Try calling the company with the serial number before you give it up. It's not possible to look up Remingtons online either, they do have barrel codes but often enough those are unreliable due to barrel swapping. If you want a trustworthy dare you have to call with model and serial number and get them to look it up for you. I don't know if it works that way with Mossbergs or not but there's only one way to tell.

Can't believe none of the Mossberg fans have weighed in here- they're slipping.

I'd call or e-mail Mossberg with the serial number, too.

If it helps any, my 500's serial number is T0718XX, and it can't be older than 4 or 5 years, probably closer to 3.
