I just got some Blackhorn 209 B-P substitute in to test.

Are any of you pards shooting this stuff?

I assume it works OK with smokeless lubed bullets?

Anything I ought to watch out for?

To prevent misfires and weak shots it requires a hotter 209 primer like the Federals, a tight fitting sabot and heavy compression after it's rammed home.
The flash channels of some breech plugs are known to not be open enough to get reliable ignition. That can sometimes be cured by opening it up more with a drill.
If being used with bore size conicals, loading over a tight fitting wad to serve as a gas check would be a consideration.
The petals of a sabot may be able to be cut off and loaded under the conical in an effort to create a tighter seal too.
Blackhorn 209 is a type of smokeless powder so smokeless lube shouldn't cause any problem.

Thanks for the info.

I suppose I should have stipulated in my original question that I'll be loading it in cartridges....45 Colt and .45-70. I know to use magnum primers.

Wondered if there are any other tips to consider.
