As the title says, anybody like that wildcat?
I never shot .30 Herrett, but did own a .357 Herrett barrel on my Contender for maybe 15 years...
Loved it, just never shot it any more as I moved to other handguns for hunting...
An uncle of mine had one back... wow, a long time ago. It was an original model Contender with a 10 inch barrel.
I probably put close to a couple of hundred rounds through it, mostly at targets but it did account for a few jackrabbits in my hands. My uncle took at least one small deer that I know about.
Amazingly accurate for a handgun (back then), but forming cases was a pain.
It was a "good day" when someone just decided to put the full size 30-30 in a handgun...
I had a .357 Herrett. As noted, exceptionally accurate. I formed my brass from .30-30's.
It defined "hand cannon". Even with double ear protection it was painful to shoot.
Mine's an old one with a 10 inch barrel. And the guy who had it had the muzzle crowned.
Not sure how to find the age on these things yet.
Making the cases wasn't too bad. After I got set up I made 50 yesterday taking my time.
I'm still shooting fire forming rounds and getting the scope set up.
I think this thing is going to shoot way better than I can from what I've seen so far.
