Anyone too busy/broke for guns?

Magnuumpwr, I didn't express myself very well.

My rant was at the state government that takes all that money from me but, if I become unemployed, I can only collect about $1,000. (Four weeks).

I've suffered from this for a while now too. My solution has been to start picking up and shooting cheap milsurps instead of more expensive stuff. I wanted an AR, but two SKS's and a thousand rounds of ammo is cheaper. I've had to compromise what I really WANT in order to get to shoot. If not, I'd never get to buy or shoot probably. SKS, WASR AK, Springfield GI instead of a Garand, AR, and Kimber. I've learned not to be a gun snob. Along the way, I've re-discovered that I LIKE to shoot, rather than just buy the nice latest thing and not have any $ to shoot it or be afraid to scratch it because it would devalue it or something.

As for the time issue, that is always tough. I went over a year without shooting after my son was born, I'm just now getting back into it. But with as little time I have after work and necessary "chores" around the house, it's tough to choose to go to the range over playing with my 2yr old son. I typically wait until he's out doing something with momma, and I'll sneak off to shoot for a few hours.

Monkey,
I'm in the same boat, just working a different oar.

My 'fund' was depleted last Autumn for the hardware collection. I still have some dough for ammunition and reloading supplies but my firearm purchases are about 1 every two to three years now. this kind of forces me to enjoy each firearm before making an addition. It also allows me to research each addition so I don't end up with stuff that is just a passing fad.

Always keep a couple of arms chambered in .22lr for cheap fun!!!
