I play america's army.
I wanted to check it out but it's a total Flash website. I deleted Flash from my computer when I noticed that the end-user agreement obligates me to an undisclosed financial burden, should Macromedia decide to monitor me and charge me for it.

Bummer.

there are other sites you can d/l from, it's free, so a lot of 3rd party sites host it.

I've been inspired by a recent thread.
Would anyone like to setup a THR Battlefield 1942 game sometime soon?

I still play bf1942 with the DesertCombat mod all the time. Its the only game I play actually. I play on the 21st-ss apache war server and the generalmayhem server under the name Hellstatic.

BF1 and the expansion packs is the newest game I own. I just can't justify $50 a game every time a new one comes out. I think I will splurge for MOH:pA soon though. MOH is one of the best FPS game-series there is.

I still like playing the first MOH on PS1 where it gives you a "groin-shot" tally, or has several different names for "head-shot" experts. I havent decided which is better: Melon-popper or HomeWrecker. Haven't gotten Homewrecker with a shotgun yet.

CoD for me...

...but no friggin' DEATHMATCHES!

I'd also consider being part of a Joint-Op for us 40+ (err... 50+) year-old folks too.

english kanigit: I'm strictly PC based gaming, and based on the info I have, XBox live does not support use from a PC. :( The last console I owned was one of these.

I tried AA, and it looked intriguing, but the weapon control was too notchy (like the iron sight picture had preset points on the compass with the points too far apart).
Agreed, deathmatches are boring.
Well, they are fun to watch as a free floating spectator. Like watching ant wars.

I just can't get into any of those games.

You pay $50 Install. Start the game. Take two steps. BOOOOM! Head shot!

Start over. Take two steps. The entire world blows up around you. A bunch of guys run past. Why weren't the killed?

Start over. Take two steps. An enemy comes towards you. You unload everything in your arsenal into him with no effect. He's flying through the air, moving impossible fast, glances at you... you're dead.

These games all seem to be filled with people who do nothing but practice the game 20 hours a day. I'm just not willing to invest the dozens or hundreds of hours it takes to get to the point of not being killed within the first five seconds.

Jumping Jimminy Crickets, am I the only one on this board who plays Ravenshield? (LOL)

Nah I just bought it last month and I've been playing it somtimes. It's just that it takes so long to plan a mission, you spend 80% of time planning and 20% of time executing. But fun nonetheless.

For the BF2 players here, check out tacticalgamer.com. It a great community of mature gamers who use tactics and teamwork over voip regularly.

Some of us are on dialup and figure we would just slow you high speed guys down too much...:p

You may want to reconsider. I played MoH:AA for an unhealthy amount of time, as well as the PS2 MoH game(or was it games? Been a while). PA was a disappointment. Not many people play, the servers are usually laggy, and even when they aren't the hit detection is all over the place. You'll open up on a player five feet away and miss with all 50 rounds of .45ACP, then you'll snipe a guy across the map with an SMG. They have released another patch since then but I haven't heard anyone say it fixed a great deal. I was so put off by the initial experience that I didn't bother checking it out.

The single player is more fun but they really didn't use the jungle setting that well, IMO. It's like playing inside but the walls are a solid mass of trees and there is no roof. There are a few open spots though. I enjoyed the single player a good bit, especially the Tommy gun. :D But it was quite a let down for the price.

I wish deathmatches were more popular. When I must, I'll play an objective game. But I play to fight other people, not defuse bombs. ;) Probably why I hate games with "rounds." I don't want to sit and watch everyone else play, I want to charge into the enemies, take a few with me, respawn, and have at it once more.

Hehe. I can remember playing Team Fortess Classic as an HPB(High Ping illegitimate child :D). On good days when the stars were aligned, the moon was blue, and the Lord smiled, I had 300 ping compared to everyone else's 100. Usually it was more like 1000.

I might get BF1942 and BF2 soon, if my comp will run them.

I'll try to join in the fun. I've got CS:S, but I've never played it. I went off it after about three days.

Yea, I remember quite a few games, playing with 400ms ping,..... I remember totally owning these two guys (I was a HWguy, you know, with the minicannon?) and they were bitching because they had 500ms ping vs my 400. Boo friggin' hoo.

But to keep it more or less gun related, what gun for HWGuys? :neener:

I used to play Engineer. I lagged too badly to do anything else. I was, however, a master at suicide EMPing. No HWGuy could last against my fiery kamikaze doom! When I got broadband, I switched to my personal favorite class, Sniper. That little red dot of dewn will never quite fade from my memory.

I always figured an MG-42 would be best. Something like... this.

OH yea, suicide EMPing! Loved to do that. I especially loved to 'help' an enemy out with a friendly ammo pack real quick, and then promptly follow up with an EMP.

Another favored tactic was, of course, the MIRV jump with the demoman. Impossible, you say? Not so, if you have broadband and time the jump properly (really, it's only useful on 2fort, or it WAS, they may have "fixed that" )

Provided you had full health and near full armor, you could prime a MIRV, hang onto that sucker, and jump off the sniper deck on 2fort (you had to prime it at JUST the right time) The grenade would blow (not incidently giving the usual numerous snipers a nice grenade shower) and would usually launch you to a lower entrance, (only once did i ever make the other sniper deck, )

Snipers hated me. :p
I used to play as Phyphor, or Satan666.

And yes, like so many newbs, my first game of TFC had a "Why the hell is my screen red filtered all of a sudden?" <BLAM> moment.

Needless to say, I rapidly developed a hatred of enemy snipers...... so I got good with the Spy. :p

Hmm, I always figured a Barret .50 (M82) would be best, no red dot to let that poor bastard know what's coming.

I always played as a Pyro in TFC. I'd run around, set everybody on fire, and try not to die. Hopefully, my team was coordinated enough to take advantage. Usually I got killed. Ahh, such memories.

Anybody ever try playing Scout Golf on cz2?

while in Iraq, I've become hooked on Black Hawk Down for PS2... I don't own one in the states, so it's a temporary time killer

Sad part is, I was one of the men that in April 2004 went into Fallujah, I guess I can't get enough of the killing :uhoh: need to get back to a Combat Team and not stuck swinging with the wing, agianst my will.

Actually the Majority of those are Cheaters, they create and use 3rd party programs that more or less play the game for them, and in many cases give them things like invincibility, Unlimited Ammo, Bottomless Magazine's (never need to reload), Automatic Aim & Fire and many other things.
