I tried to post in the classifieds but the system won't let me for some reason. I was planning on picking up a Kimber Solo from a member here a few months ago but tbe gun i was selling to pay for it fell through so i couldn't afford the Soli. Problem is i had already bought a nice holster for it but dont need it now. Its a Mitch Rosen Express leather in Cuban Brown leather and can accept a 1.5" belt. This is brand new and top of the line. If anyone wants it for cheap pm me.

Mods, sorry, not sure why i can't post in the correct section.

Mine was unreliable. Too frequent misfires for a personal defense firearm for any price. It was a darling of the gun magazines when came out. Not the first not the last.

Were you shooting quality Ammo or cheap Walmart practice ammo? I rented a recent production one, all stock, and it ran 100% through 50 rounds of Gold Dots. More of a gun you get used to and shoot a few mags through each month to stay proficient with it.

Talking with a guy from Kimber at the SHOT show, I was told the following:

The Solo was made with a number of design compromises in order to get such a small package. One of the requirements is that you use full-power defensive ammo. If you don't, it won't cycle correctly.

So when people report unreliability, let's hear the sort of ammo they used.

That's what I always ask too. It says in the manual what the recommended type of ammo to shoot and 10 min of research before you buy will show you it's made to run on full power ammo which is why I don't understand people that complain they can't run WWB...should have done your homework!

I shot American Eagle 124 gr and 147 gr FMJ, and hollowpoints from Hornady, Federal and CorBon. I read the manual. It did not call for "full power defensive ammo". It did recommend 124 gr bullets and heavier.
If you feel secure with your Solo, fine by me. People "complain" about my favorite guns all the time. I don't huff and puff. Good luck selling the rig.
