Has anyone recently received a parts order (i.e., lower receiver parts kit) from Rock River? If so, how long ago did you place your order?

I placed an order for lower receivers and lower receiver parts kits late last year. The receivers came in a month or two ago, but no sign of the parts kits yet. I understand that the whole supply line is running full tilt to try to keep up with demand, but thought my order might have gotten lost in the system since it was split up. Wanted to ask here before I pinged Rock River.

Thanks

I ordered an Elite Tactical 13 weeks ago and was quoted a 20-24 week lead time. It came in yesterday! Also, my local dealer has mostly full racks again of RRA, DPMS and other rifles, as well as lowers, uppers and parts after being bare for many months. I think the manufacturers are starting to catch up. I'd send them a polite inquiry.

Dude don't expect it for six months. No one is getting much from them lately.

Pretty much what I expected, but I ordered a little more than six months ago.

I'll drop them a line to see what they say.

Thanks for the inputs.

Ordered a Mid-length upper last October. Arrived two weeks ago. Hopefully your order will arrive soon, but it wouldn't hurt to look elsewhere and place a back order for a LPK somewhere else. You'll have no trouble selling the extra one(s) once it arrives.

Drop them all the lines you want, you won't hear back from them. Ever.

I called them yesterday to ask about LPK's. Called the regular number NOT the 800 number. Was transfered immediately to someone who answered my questions. I don't know how it works when you have an existing order like yours, but currently they are using all the LPK's to build complete rifles, accd to the lady I talked to. I would think they would honor all existing orders for parts, though.

I had no trouble getting an answer. Try the regular number.

im a RR dealer and they informed me that they would not be shipping any LPK's until their currant back log is completed...which im not entirely sure what that means. we have been able to get RR lowers in about 3 weeks.

has anyone else noticed the different serial numbers that are coming from RRA. their normal ones I have always recieved have started with the letters CM and the number is still in the 50k range. Now I am getting ones with two other letter prefixes and a whole lot higher serial number ranges also. I have been getting a mix of all 3 lately.

Also on the collapsible stocks the normal ones were very well made with a small RRA's logo. Now I am starting to get some with a large RRA's logo and the tollerances are not what they used to be on the stock as it seems to rattle and is alot looser.

I am beginning to think that the LPKs I ordered last year are being used to build rifles that were ordered a month ago. If I find that to be the case I'll cancel my order and take my business elsewhere from now on.

When I ordered my lowers, the frenzy was just ramping up, but orders were well above normal already. In the back of my mind I was a little worried that quality would slip while they were running full tilt. What you are saying may be an indication this is true. Interestingly, a RRA lower I bought prior to that will not work with a Bushmaster upper I have had for years. The upper will not close tightly enough with the lower to allow the rear takedown pin to go in. Not even close. I don't know if that is a problem with the upper or the lower though.

I hope we aren't headed towards a "pre-09 AR" vs. "post-09 AR" distinction.

When I ordered my AR from them, I was given a 16 week wait & I was surprised I got it 2 weeks later
Granted this was long before this frenzy started, but it just illustrates how they operate
FYI -- it's worth the wait!

RRA's are really tight. To get mine together I had to bump the pin with a rubber mallet. Its still snug enough that I need a punch to get the takedown pin out for cleaning. (2500ish rounds through it so far) I like it that way since it doesn't rattle like others do and I'm not in combat where cleaning quickly isnt an issue. It will probably go in with just a few solid bumps with a plastic mallet.

RRA's are really tight.

That has not been my experience at all, interestingly. Not trying to deny your personal experience, just sharing my own.

I had a Bushmaster upper and lower that were so tight, trying to get the pins pushed in or out was quite difficult. I put a new Bravo Company upper onto the same lower, and it is just about perfect. I can just about push the pins out with my finger tip without it being a painful process, and pushing them back in is a snap, and my two Rock River uppers & lowers are the same way (just as easy).

Yet in spite of how easy they are to mate, there is not much play or "jiggle" between them at all. Can't figure that one out.

I ordered two LPKs (with standard grips & triggers) on March 23rd and received them on April 13th. I've heard/read that kits which include the two-stage trigger and/or a Hogue or Ergo grip are taking longer to ship than those with the standard parts.
