Anywhere to get cheap shoot n c targets?

So I've been buying the targets at Wal-Mart where the 8" ones I like are $5 for 6 targets. It's cheaper than most other stores around here. They quit carrying the Birch Wood Casey ones and now have some Winchester ones that seem about the same. They also used to have some Champion Visi Shot ones that were black with orange lines. These were $5 for a 10 pack. I didn't like them quite as much but they were a lot cheaper. They no longer carry these which is what made me start looking elsewhere. Is there anywhere to get these things cheap. Almost $1 a target for a piece of paper seems extremely high to me.
 
I thought those champion brand ones were pretty good for the $. It looks like Winchester now has the market cornered for those types of targets at Walmart at least. I think the Winchester ones might be made by birchwood casey but I'm not sure though. At Cabelas you can get the big packs of the Shoot N Cs still. There's like 30 in a pack for $15 which isn't too bad.

Try out some steel targets and some reactive ones. They last longer and are fun to shoot. I do prefer the shoot n c type of targets when I'm paying more attention to accuracy.
 
Yeah the ones at Wal-Mart say Birchwood Casey in the bottom corner but say Winchester in big writing. They no longer have the Champion ones that were 10 targets for $5. I really liked those and would like to get some more for that price. They also no longer have the larger Champion paper targets that aren't shoot n c that are the one big target and the 4 little ones in the corners. I wish I could get more of those also.

I saw Cabela's had the 30 packs onsale for $15 on their website and I'm close to ordering them but once you factor in shipping it's more like $20-21 for 30. I don't have a Cabela's nearby.

I also checked ebay to no avail. I may have to check out midway that sounds like a awesome price.
 
There are a few vendors on amazon.com that carry them for decent prices. I've been checking there first for a lot of things lately. I was able to pickup crimson trace for a sp101 for about 20 bucks under everybody else a few months back.
 
In my area Wally is no cheaper than the equivalent

at full price outfitters. I like the 8" Dirty Bird ones because I like the small red bull in the center of the 10 ring. These run about $11-12 for 25 so that is 50 cents each. I have checked the internet but by the time I pay shipping this seems to be as good as it gets. Maybe if I bought 200 or something there would be cheaper but 25 last me for about 4 trips to the range. Since the range is free except for gas and my ammo expense I mark the targets up to recreation cost....although of course I always like to save money if I can.
 
What's full price outfitters? I don't think we have one of those around here. The dirty bird ones at Wal-Mart here are $5 for 5-6 of them. So right around $1 a piece. So far I'm not finding them much cheaper than that. The cheapest I've found is the 30 pack of regular ones from Cabela's for $15 plus shipping.
 
Thanks. For the printing my own I've done that before but honestly, I really like the shoot n c ones and you can't print those. If I'm just shooting at close ranges I don't mind printing my own. However, for long distance shooting as in over 50 yards I like the shoot n c ones.
 
I also second the print your own. But will further that by saying print your own, and try placing a piece of colored construction paper behind it. I have been think about doing this, but have not gotten out to shot lately.
 
I don't think that the different-colored construction paper backer would work; the bullet would just drill a nice hole through both sheets.

The way that the Shoot-N-C style targets work is that the backer paper is laminated with a thin poly film layer, covered by the (generally) black topcoat. When the projectile strikes the target, the poly film stretches and causes the topcoat to flake off in the surrounding area, leaving the neon-colored backer paper exposed so you can easily see your shot placement.
 
I got a pack of 50 targets at Gander for $15.00.

They are substantial, ooze a green color around the hole where hit, and fit nicely in my shooting bag.

Sorry to nitpick, Hokkmike, but that actually comes out to 30 cents per target.

Call me frugal but, I still roll my own and shoot them at 200 yds. I got a spotting scope at Wall Mart for 50 dollars (the cost covered by a gift card) I can see the hits just fine. That is until they become too many. Then they have to be taped, how does tape work on the shoot and see?
 
Some of the shoot n c ones have pasters you can put over the holes to cover them up to use them more. Some others don't seem to come with those.
 
my local gun shop has them at pretty nice prices per 50 pack.
but the more i've been shooting the more i've been leaving them at home.
the range has masking tape for people to tape up their targets. i just use the tape and make good size x's on my targets. but the construction paper sounds like a pretty neat idea.
i see some people use balloons. i always that that was neat.

Another thumbs up for "Dirty Bird" targets. Cheaper, and I like the targets better, than Shoot N C.
 
Aren't the Dirty Bird ones the same price? At Wal-Mart here they were still $5 like the old Shoot N C ones were. Maybe there are more in a pack. I will have to check. I think the look of the dirt bird ones is cooler but I don't like that it doesn't give you pasters.
 
I checked and you actually get 8 8" dirt bird ones so they are slightly cheaper as you get 8 instead of 6. However, you also don't get any pasters to cover up the holes.
