Appleseed Project - Rifle Selection

I am very new to the rifle game as illustrated by my currnet barrage of threads in this section. I am going to the Project Appleseed camp. Has anyone done this and can comment on its value? What was your selection of rifles??

I learned quite a bit and my shooting definately improved. I ran a Marlin Model 70 with Tech-Sights, the forerunner of the current Model 795. There were many Ruger 10-22's, most with many aftermarket parts. This seems to be the most popular choice but the Marlin 795 will set you back around $110 after the Marlin rebate and will run with the modified Rugers. Both are good but the Marlin with Tech-Sights will be much less than a stock Ruger. Show up with a teachable attitude and you will have a good time. My $.02.
