Approx. how much desiccant gel is proper for a 'fat .50' or .30 cal. ammo can?

Far too little is inside my many cans and a few have only kitty litter I realize that the dusty grayish grains of litter are Not good, but completely forgot about upgrading to either correct desiccant, or using enough of the correct types.

The cans are in exc. condition have very tight seals, are mostly filled with cardboard ammo boxes, stored in an air conditioned area ( this seems like my prev. ads on Armslist).

Edit: Noticed a guy using Fresh Step kitty letter made of 100% blue silica gel, from Walmart. This could work.

Go to your local furniture store and make friends with the unpack/assembly guys. I put in a month at a furniture store and I brought home about 80 of the packs that are in between a golf ball and a baseball when wadded up. I used most of mine in my plastic cans, and then held a handful in reserve for more cans as I expand my stock. These packs mostly came in recliners and reclining sofas. Free is good, because they just throw them away.
