I'm about to reinstall a barrel on an AR. Getting if off was fun.
I've seen a lot of threads suggesting molybdenum disulfide grease "White Grease" (the grease acts as an anti-seize compound) on the threads.

My question Is: Would anti-seize compound be better than White Moly grease? It is designed for the application.

Admittedly I am a big fan of anti-seize compound.

    Thanks,

I use a thin coat of Tetra Gun Grease and this seems to work well.
I think the main thing is that you use some sort of grease instead of trying to install the nut on dry threads.
If anti-seize grease is your thing, go ahead and use it.

I had one guy tell me they go together dry.
I have plenty of good results with anti-seize & none bad. I'm going with my instincts. But as my wife will tell me "If you were so smart you wouldn't have had to take the barrel off in the first place."

I use anti-seize on my builds. I also use the tighten-loosen 3 times trick.

For anyone wondering, that "one guy" is very wrong.

Pick the right kind for the metal(s) it will be used with and you'll do ok.

In my job I use extensive amounts of "Never Seize". While it is a wonderful anti seize lube for nuts and bolts, it attracts dirt and grime like you would not believe.(Ever try to wash it off?)

After only 9 AR builds the axle grease or the white lithium grease seems to be best suited in my opinion.

I dont think never seize will harm your firearm, I just think that there are better options available. YMMV
